They're probably either from the religious right or Nazis, so it probably is shame.

There are only two political affiliations:
1) Those who believe they have the authority - "moral" or not - to make decisions about how (and if) you live your life - criminals, dictators, communists, socialists, Democrats, Republicans, liberals, conservatives, etc...
2) Those who don't.

Slightly left of a Social Democrat. With mild communist outbursts. And anti-right.

quote: Nazism is rightist, you silly unclefunker |
quote: Nazism is as far to the right as you can go. |
quote: While whether Hitler's original National Socialism was rightist or leftists is still under debate, modern NeoNazis, as much as they can be categorized as anything but "arseholes", are pretty much in the extreme right. |
Errr, Conservatives are as NeoNazi as Left-liberals. Remember, all rightists are laissez-faire, quite much a contradiction to the nation-states the Nazis were creating, no?
Our nice little Swedish rasisct-party, the Sweden Democrats, have very little in common with the right-wing. No, instead they want us out of the EU, want tariffs, reject all immigrants, foreign trade and products etc. A vast amount of tax money will be used to conservate the Swedish culture and to force all school kids to wear Swedish national costumes...
Look at the political compass, Nazism is authoritarian. Duh.

zhu: I generalize. If one doesn't generalize in a debate it's hard to desbribe or express anything at all.
Like you say, what used to be a custom way to adress left or right with in the 18th century is irrelevant.
"neo-nazism is certainly just as "right" as classical liberalism."
I know it's custom to label racism & nazism as "extreme right" but that's an inaccurate definition, given that there are more than one axis to measure a group's or party's position. I find the diamond-shaped graph at www.self-gov.org the best try I've seen so far.
