Actually, I thought that Harpax sounded like exotic disease you pick up from visit to Thailand and which causes your scrotum to tingle and then fall off. It's... food-related, yes, water-related, that's the ticket.

Harpax (Toilet Duck ), you have my congratulations on joining the Apolyton crew. I hope your stay will be a pleasurable one. I apologize for my "dry" method of posting, that's why they don't like me here.

As a sign of friendship and goodwill between us, I offer you my traditional gift: a box of the finest Belgian chocolates (Courtesy of Colon).

And likes concrete architecture...

Hmmm. Have you seen the new graduate residence at Spadina and Harbord? What are your feelings about it?

Hey Goingonit, do you go to U of T? I much prefer Robarts Library! Now that's concrete!

If you know about the graduate residence, you must know about Robarts.

I'm in high school at UTS - it's in the campus area.

Robarts used to be the ugliest building on campus - now we have that thing.

UTS? Where is that? I've never heard of it.

Do I smell an Apolytoners Toronto Meeting coming up?

Seriously though, I love the Robarts building. And did you know it is supposed to represent a peacock? Hah!

I agree with you concerning the new residence. It is ugly!

BTW, where did the pics come from?

On the pics, I did a google search.

UTS stands for University of Toronto Schools; it's affiliated with U of T, but it's a high school. It's the southeast corner of Bloor and Spadina; this building:

I thought Robarts Library was supposed to be a swan.

Sweet! Is it like a private school?

Actually I'm in my first year at U of T. I belong to University College (I chose it simply because it's at the heart of the university ). Actually, I don't think it really matters which college you belong to. Minor differences (with the exception of architecture and public washrooms - man, have you ever been to the washrooms at Trinity College? Euhhh! Well, the basement one anyway. ).

UTS, hey? Are you in OAC?

It used to be sort of an alternative public type school, but then gov. cut of funding now it's private.

I'm not in OAC.

If you're not in OAC then I assume you're enjoying the new curriculum (or system or whatever the hell you want to call it). In Ontario, there are no more OAC's (Actually, I think this is the last year for OAC's. ) I managed to escape, though. OAC was fun, but it's really too bad that high school ends at grade 12 now.

What's your opinion on this.

I am actually the 1st year of the new curriculum. The differences are:

-all the course codes have been rendered more cryptic (what used to be MAT3AE is now MPM2DE - in the original at least you could tell it was math)

-all the textbooks are new, and even more PC - in both ways.

-many courses are renamed (Ancient Civilizations is now Civilizations in History)

-We now take Civics (how to vote for Mike Harris) and Career Studies (utter BS for 55 hours of my year)

-we would have taken the literacy test, but someone posted it on the Internet. Now we're having it on Valentines day.

-the curriculum itself is pretty much unchanged

I guess this is the ultimatum and these are the demands that must be met

A.) Any nasty posters (I like to call them parasites) I should be wary of?
B.) Anything unpopular on Apolyton?
C.) Anything popular on Apolyton?
D.) Anything else?

Thanks!
