The thing is, people who are telekinetic don't have any supernatural powers. They're just people who have understood "Do not try to fight against gravity. Merely realize the truth: there is no gravity."

Hi Evan! It's me. Concern has been expressed recently over whether this really is you, especially since you haven't been on ICQ recently-- and your writing style seems a little off. Someone said your friends may have stolen your ACS account. Given our previous discussions on religion, your post especially seems off. To help dispel these concerns, can you please your check ICQ history and check what message you sent me on August 5, 2001 at 7:43 PM. Thanks.

She said they usesomething called aversion therapy and electordes and such. Its all supervised by a Christian doctor and there's lots and lots of praying and laying on of hands and casting out. Plus walks in the woods and singing hyms. Sounds like fun They hold it up in the mountains at a secret holy place they have.

Homosexuality cannot be cured. What can happen, is that they convince you that you are no longer gay and to stop "acting" gay. However, you are still attracted to the same sex deep down and are really only truely happy boinking your own.

There is an extremely high rate of recidivism for the "cured." Sadly, it's these *sshole anti-gay Christians who are largely responsible for the unhappiness that many gay people feel. Then they turn around and hold out the love and accceptance that has gone missing from these gay people's lives (which is a very necessary part of human existence).

They're like abusive parents, withholding approval and love inexchange for proper behavior. I sometimes wish Christianity were the true religion, so I could laugh at all these evil people's faces as they are pitched into the pits of Hell.

OH shut the hell up Che with your Anti-Christian Troll

The reason gay people feel unwanted is because there just normal. Say what the **** you want...we all have our prejudice. Tell me you dont have an urge stare at people in wheel chairs? So stop trolling. Get serouis man...

You can blame the rigid social structure in your local high-school for being so cruel. ****......when there was a gay kid found at school. His back pack would get stolen, he would get jumped in the B-Room. His tires slashed, laughed at, mailbox bashed...I could go on. And this was in New York Mind you. (Longwood HS!)

And the **** still goes on.

Suffering from ads?

I agree with chegitz's assessment. And as a Christian myself, I didn't take his remarks as an anti-Christian troll at all. Fundies are very anti-gay, that's true, but then they're not really Christians either. Because part of being Christian is accepting that man and woman are made equally in the image of God and are therefore entitled to that respect. Gay or not, there is a sacred quality to each and every human life. You don't get to treat a certain class of persons as sub-human just because you don't approve of their choice of sexual partner. If a person is harming the community, then certainly the government has the right to restrain them. But even then you still have to treat that person as a human being and not like cattle.

Now given the opportunity, I think many gays would wish to get married. I believe they would benefit from the longevity and stability that form of relationship has the potential to provide. Part of the reason for the unhappiness of many gays may be that they are unable to achieve the same quality of relationship as heterosexuals. The recognition of gay marriage would at least give them the opportunity to try.

That said, I attach several posts I contributed to the Gay Marriage in Germany thread last August, outlining my principled defense of gay marriage. I saved them in Word 2000 format. I'd be more than happy to convert them to something else if anyone is unable to view them.

Gay people should be stared at because only 1 in 10 people is gay, then?

People have the urge to stare at people in wheel chairs because they like to know or consider why they would be in there, and how they got there. People stare at homosexuals because they think they're either sinners, evil, disgusting, what have you.

I thought Che's post was spot-on.

One thing that is important to note is that many of the people who hate homosexuals aren't really Christian. They are just simple, stupid, narrowminded bullies who like to pick on anybody who is diffrent from themselves. I don't know of any form of Christianity that favors beating up gays. And I don't think that many of the people bullying gays ascribe to Christian sexual morality themselves- how many of these people beating up gays abstain from premarital sex, do not look at porn, etc.?

The ones that point to the bible and shriek that Homosexuality is a sin and then also harass homosexuals to convert to heterosexuality. They implant the idea in people's heads that homosexuals are lesser people, or not people at all, at which point many people take it upon themselves to harass, bully, mock, and even assault the sinners. You know, to let them see the light.

Put an end to popups!

Dad said that in the world he created, diseases are caused by one of three things: bacteria, viruses, and genetic flaws (even though I think that he is using that "genetic flaw" bit to hide a bunch of errors he made on creation day. But I digress.)

Anyway, I asked him if homosexuality was a disease and he said "No, of course not."

So there.

Not an anti-Christian troll at all. I was targetting a specific subset of Christians, those who promote heterosexism. While there are those, say, the Cathoic Church who say, "Love the sinner, not the sin," there are all too many out there who secretly agree with the Rev. Phelps of the world when he states, "God hates fags!" (This is not to say I endorse the Catholic Church's variant of heterosexism. There are Christian churches out there that embrace homosexuality -- "God doesn't make mistakes.")

Furthermore, kids in high school are cruel towards gays because they are taught that it is okay to be cruel towards gays, sissy-boys, etc., anyone who fails to live up to the heterosexist ideal of what men and women are supposed to be. There is far less racism in shool than there used to be (and still far too much), because kids have been taught it is not okay to be racist. Kids get the message from their coaches, from their churches, from their political leaders, from their parents, etc. that gays aren't right and are disgusting and have no rights.

You are putting the cart before the horse. The attitudes of children are a reflection of societies ills, not the cause of them.

I support you being a christian EVC

also the group you are in sounds questionable, it also seems that you may have joined out of confusion for who you are

Christ can help you answer that, but this group seems liable to lead you astray (it seems like a cult)

it is just hard for people to no how to interact with you on a forum

escpecially with some of the stunts you have pulled previously

we would like you to stay, but if you feel the need for a break fill free
