I think maybe you made Fascism too weak (no hurry, worker rate of 1, tile penalty etc...).

I think i'm gonna try it now than I'll give you some more thought.

Sovy: I like it, although, Giovanni is right: Fascism is kinda weak.

Journier: I wouldn't mind another succession game, but I'd rather finish this one, or at least bring it to the point where our victory is unquestionable. If you do decide to start another one, PM me about it.

Also, I'll see about fixing Fascism. Maybe reduce the corruption a bit more.

But Fascism also has the best unit support, besides theocracy.

Oh well, better to get some criticism then none

Here's my turn...

Dunk II wins the election for Head Civver by a slender margin. Opponents are ridiculed for 30 days.

1814... Dunk II begins massing artillery for future invasion of Germany. No one knows that yet, of course.

1816... The city of Port Happy is founded on the continent of South America. Construction begins on a harbor for the city.

1818... Espionage discovered. All of a sudden, we know how to spy on people. Several bad plays and movies are made. The city of Thebes begins contruction of an Intelligence Agency. Dunk II sends scientists back to work to find some sort of way to eliminate the need for the horse in front of his cart (I set Motorized Transportation as the goal) after a horse deficates in his lap on a ride around town.

1820... The cities of Purplebowl and Dunkopolis are founded in South America near some very valuable resources, gems, silks, and dyes.

1822... A barbarian camp near Dunkopolis is destroyed.

1824... Greece and Rome sign a Mutual Protection Pact. The 3 cities of these great nations will stand together and be slaughtered someday. The city of Antioch begins construction of The Iron Works. Hopefully, a more populated city can be found to produce this work. (Couldn't find another city with Iron & Coal).

1826... Workers meander about building oddly windy railroads. The alcohol content of their rations is investigated.

1828... Refining discovered. One step closer to no horses.

1830... Ho hum

1832... Dunk II sends a galleon full of workers to the new cities in South America to help with road construction. (en route... near Pompeii... western Africa).

Dunk II is trampled by a horse while crossing the street, ending his reign.

1834 AD, Civburg, January 2nd, 8:51AM:
A man stands at the entrance to the CivCapitol, and thinks: "How much it has changed since my ancestors ruled this great empire hundreds and hundreds of years ago." He then walks inside, and proceeds to take over the government.

The reign of Steele MCMLXXVII (1977th) (I have no idea how many runs I've had, and I am too lazy to count) is proclaimed all over Civland.

1834AD:
Trade maps with Rome, net profit 1 gold.
Barbarian uprising near Purplebowl. It is quickly crushed by our vaunted cavalry.

1836AD:
Boooorrrriiiinnnnggggggg

1838AD:
Trade map and Espionage for map and Sanitation with China (China is four techs ahead)

1840AD:
Still boring

1842AD:
Sparta culture-jumps to China. However, the Chinese reject the city, hoping to avoid a diplopmatic incident.

1844AD:
We discover steel. Now my name means something.

1846AD:
Da dum da dum dum ba dum

1848AD:
Ninty-nine bottles of beer on the wall....

1850AD:
...take one down, pass it around...

1852AD:
...no more bottles of beer on the wall.

1854AD:
Steele MCMLXXVII dies after drinking nothing but beer for 6 years. The people quickly forget him.

The reign of Rotten IV saw domestic development, increases in culture, successful diplomacy, and sound planning. In other words, it's not going to be much fun to read about.

1856: Rotten IV, Civland's answer to Al Gore, is elected on his "No Wars, Temples for All" platform. He vows to dig a trench to the 20th century.

Combustion discovered. Soon we'll have Tanks...then they'll pay!

Numorous building projects completed.

1858: More peaceful building.

Rotten IV releases his first book "Sound planing, Sensible Future." It's on the bargain table within a month.

1860: Multiple We Love Head Civver days celebrated!

1862: Temple rush throughout Africa.

Rotten IV's second book "Sane Governing, Decent Tomorrow" is shelved when no publisher is interested, despite all the Libraries built by Rotten IV.

1864: More building projects.

1866: Internal development continues.

Spices traded to China form 3 Gold/turn, 50 Gold, Territory map.
They still hate us, of course.

1868: Mass Production discovered. Civland is rapidly turning into an industrial hellscape.

1870: Massive cultural development in Africa!

1872: Port Happy gets a harbor! I did like the name of Purplebowl too...but Port Happy! That's awesome.

1874: Furs traded with China for 31 gold/turn.

Rotten IV dies, but continues to rule for another three weeks when no one can tell the difference.

State of the Union: Our economy is very strong (over a hundred gold a turn, now!) and we have the infrastructure to really smash some heads in our next war. Once we get tanks (soon, real soon) we should immediately jump on our continental rivals. It still looks like we can dominate S. America, as well.
