I doubt that Nietzsche would say power derives from public opinion.

And if you hadn't noticed, Bush's approval ratings in the US are 80%+. That is the only rate that really matters.

"You use the pastry rolls as coasters, under the beer."

That's one thing I've never understood about the Western Austrians. How can you drink so much beer and eat so many pastries at the same time? Bavarians will sit there drinking all day with nary a sweet morsel passing their lips.

It must be very damaging to the psyche to be pulled two opposite directions constantly. I feel for you.

No, you misunderstood me: I said you have a point with this, even though you are, generally speaking, a repulsive person.

This is where our respective opinions part company. I am arguing for us Euros and all others who have had enough of US megalomania to prove there are some other things that also matter.

As the Brits say: 'The proof of the pudding will be in the eating.'

"In geopolitics and foreign policy, "rights" mean nothing, and "power" means everything."

Echos of 30.000 BC: "In the relation with the clan next cave, "rights" mean nothing, and "power" means everything."

"You use the pastry rolls as coasters, under the beer."

Huh ? Sounds barbaric....

"How can you drink so much beer and eat so many pastries at the same time? Bavarians will sit there drinking all day with nary a sweet morsel passing their lips."

At the same time ? You mean, Krapfen mit Bier ? Torte mit Bier ?

The classic with beer is a Bretzn (not the dubya-killers), or Radi, or Lewakas.... but pastry ?

And if this was a troll it's not funny. It's about beer after all.
