Let me see. The people he made the remark to were not offended, and regarded it as a bit of a joke. No problem. It just so happens that perhaps HRH has a different sense of humour and what is funny to others, and that will not change, but some people use any excuse to snipe at their betters
On the matter of the Spanish Royal Family, did not the King derail a coup attempt in the mid 1970s by denouncing it on television, and exercising his authority as chief of the armed forces to counter the orders of the coup leaders who had seized the Parliament?
That, in my mind, is better than nothing.

I really disapprove of the existence of a Royal Family, but I do think you should give the guy a break.

Would you like his job? I certainly wouldn't. I certainly wouldn't want to be married to QE for starters. Would you?

And every time he goes anywhere he is wathced like a hawk by the UK press in case he says anything wrong. It must get pretty frustrating being followed around like that all the time. I reckon if I were doing his job I would be dropping clangers a hell of a lot more often. And I bet you would too....
