Well, I think this is the closest of my 'yellow dots' on Sprayber's map to Sol. Samnos can fall easily, but I'm not sure about Naxos, which is heavily defended now. As for Capella, maybe, though I am not sure if that could succeed.
|
heavily defended or not, TA Forces will attack three nearby Morganite systems and have the surprise advantage...the forces will be overwhelming. One system may fall quickly, and then the other right behind...but don't want to Battles for the systems to drag to the point where morganites get reinforcements. Morganites may get some intel that TA, and TAF is reorganizing their forces..most likely gearing up for more possible attacks from the Morganites or from whoever, which is a natural response after loosing a system. TAF will be the ones organizing the attacks on the three systems, and the member militaries will only have info on those plans in the last minute when they jump, keeping leakage of the plan to attack... and those forces will arrive at their targets hour or two after declaration of war is sent to the Morganites via FTL comm. Only way i can see the morganites know that TA will be declaring war is from the Titan, which the TAF is ready for that possibility...and ready to catch the Saturnian Kingdom doing that, and use it as evidence of Titan's treachery...... so Maria may get message from Kerensky as point, politly welcoming SK to TA, reminding of TA regulations and pointing out that the TAF knows of SK's relations with the Morganites. There one be any threats or anything, just stating some polite and true facts in a general way. pretty much hinting Maria... if SK doesn't want to get involve in the war, fine, doesn't matter as they recently declared independence and joined TA so not having much of a military. But don't get in the way or create trouble, don't talk to the mroganites for the duration of the war, don't provide them any info on TA movements and so on. Actually, Kerensky may even hint something like, you will be rewarded if SK cooperates...since Kerensky recognizes Titan's biotechnology research and reports of the primitive Bioships, more like a cyborg ship anyway, TAF may ask for help of SK bio researchers with the Biometal research at Pluto, under TAF supervision of course.
TAF is not considering to retake Capella right now.

Hiya people. Did anyone call for me? Our glorious attack plans are cooking up nicely, Admiral Mellian.
How far exactly is this place from Sol? 40 LY?
Eh, and before I forget - I want to be the thread Mathematician. Or Flight Specialist. Or something like that.
Application:
http://personal.phpoint.net/nortti/speeds.htm
Concisely, the Terran ships can travel at Warp 9.54 Star Trek TNG Warp speed, the Chironian ships at over Warp 12. Of course in ST that would be impossible - they would remodify the Warp scale, simple as that, or then it would be Warp 9.12 abbreviated to Warp 12.
Yes, I have just read through the Star Trek Explorer v. 3.33.
And, there are speeds converted from "Warp" to "Times Speed of Light" to "Lightyears per hour", if you have any wishes for a new convertion table, or additions to others, or just anything related to this kind of arithmetics, just ask.
Edit: And one more thing.
For purposes of special talent regarding guidance, navigation, linguistics, the largest Terran capital ships, that is, the Dreadnaughts and Battle Carriers, have a small group of dolphins aboard. OK? Just to add some flavour to the story, not to mention that I have read David Brin recently.

Well, OK. Another post, now I've got Cyber's message done. What next?
quote: History, when I introduced a friend of mine to read our BAC story, She noticed in your first post you had Zakharov in it, as if he was alive in 2700, but we know that he died in 2409 to Believer's assasination. |
Sovereign, old chum, I did fix it, though now that I think of it it wasn't too confusing having the words Zakharov in there, as Randius is after all 'Randius Zakharov.' But I changed it anyway.
As for slang and the lot, Franky is right, it depends on the mood of the post. Like, if I were to do, "Those Greater Hive Empire guys are just a bunch of brainwashed scumbags" it'd be much easier to say "Those Hive guys are just a bunch of brainwashed scumbags"....sorry, Franky, couldn't resist...
quote: Expect a reaction from Yang later. It should be interesting. I'll also explain Yang's "mood swing". |
Ah good, so some Protectorate ships will be blown up soon, eh? Finally, someone else for a change.
Mellian--
Yes, I was going to move Marmion's 1st Corps off Naxos in to the Pollux System as soon as Franky made his espionage post. Naxos and Samnos would be the first places for Kerensky's movable iron wall to slam into. Though Samnos should fall rather easily (despite several fighters who will put up a valiant, but futile fight), Naxos will take a little longer as they have a large amount of orbital weaponry, and so Kerensky shall have to expect losing some ships at Samnos and Naxos. Other parts of these lightly inhabited colony systems will fall much easier.
I think that as soon as that is done Morgan will persue peace negotiations. We'll give back Capella for our colony systems and for the shut down of InEn for example.
Good luck, Kass, in love and war, that is.
As for those titles Mr. Prez just brought up, I refuse to be left out!! I'll be the thread's...uhhh...I'll be the...uhhh...ummm...the...I'll think
of something later...

It's good to see that we both still have our sense of humor when commenting on each others faction History Guy! I think you're one up on me.
Anyway, I'm cooking up my espionage post...should have typical Hive dirty deeds in it. Nothing really big...

Franky-- One up, eh? Splendid, old boy. Absolutely topping.
I'm looking forward to seeing what old Cyber does in the near future, how Sym gets shipped to earth, and much to the chagrin of most everybody, he escapes!
Thanks for the compliment, Franky. I'm looking forward to your post. Maybe soon we'll establish contact with you instead of simply having each other's spies sneaking around each other's systems. Sabotage will definantly make Ku and Morgan a bit ruffled, but Ku will get you guys back in a post in the far future.
Thread Tactician, eh? Hmmm...I guess the Alpha Centauri forums out there wouldn't mind seeing something advertising our glorious thread!
Lonestar-- Has Lord Protector Ian ever done anything ever concerning the glorious Conglomerate of CEO Morgan? Shot down ships "mysteriously", sent in spies, or anything?
Silence-- Don'y worry about it, we've all had that sort of problem in the past. Some days I'm just too tired to type a word!

it would be silly for any Fleet Commander to not expect losses InEn is being shut down anyway, by being absorbed into the TAF. Now, 3 systems and shut down of InEn for Capella, phht quite unlikely. TA will keep those systems...sure they expect resistance, but they can be assimilated in due time... and TAF will take their time i securing the colonies with troops...but early on, all military installations and so on will be destroyed by Conventional Bombs/Missiles from orbit. or something could be done to "force" the local authourities on the colonies to join TA instead of simply being captured systems.
just say to you, i have been giving heck a few times for using the internet for my use where I could be doing work.... and will get a final warning if i continue.... so for now, i will keep things short.
for the Pirates, here is the script, in third person:
A Drone Argonaut-class Merchant Cruiser, belonging to their military, arrives into a system near the Drone-Spartan borders. There, they STL towards the next jump point while recharging the FTL Drives.... the ship is escorted by some Frigates or/and Destroyers. they encounter two more Argonauts, lightly escorted, and identified as belonging to a independent company within Free Drone Republic. They peacefully join the big convoy, since they are going towards the same direction for a system or two. the Captain of the Drone Argonaut seem to be bad feeling about it while moving across the system...barely any detectible activity except for the patrolling Spartan ships almost at the other side of the system, near the area where there use to be a lot of pirate activity. When they got near the jump point, the Drone Argonaut captain check up on the independent Argonauts with the registry back home via FTL Comm...mentioning that they recently been missing... he didn't like that feeling, so tries to contact the military escorts without attracting those "independent" Argonauts attention, but too late.... apparently, a Data Angel hacker was able to sneak in some pre-sentient algorithms on the ship computers via comm...literally spying on the computer activity of the Drone Argonaut and Military ones..... the algorithms on the military ones quietly took over the life support systems and change the composition of the oxygen, adding sleeping gas you can say..then took over the Conn of the escorts and comm systems. So the escorts as been moving automaticly and check up communiques between the ships continued automaticly.... when the Drone Argonaut realize that he is not getting any response from the Escorts, was about to send a distress signal, hoping to get the spartans to get here..... but the Pirate controlled argonauts started jamming the Drone Argonaut and moving in side by side of the Drone Argonaut.... Drones tried to move away, but realize they lost control of their Conn and Engines.... out of the Pirate Argonauts, space thruster packed Battle Gears 'jump' on the Drone Argonaut while there was some Breach Pods launch, attach to the drone hull and started boarding..... since Argonauts have small crew compliments, and military ones with only small marine squads, it was easy for the boarding pirates as they specialize in it... Most of the marines ended getting killed, and some crew members who fought back, but rest were put into a cargo bay, imprisoned while the Pirates quickly gains control of the ship with help of crafty Data Angel Algorithms. At some point, the Spartans were keeping tract on the convoy from long range sensors, and notice the 'independent' argonauts moving side by side of the Drone one... way to suspicious and they were not getting any response from the convoy, so they move for a short in-system jump towards the convoy, making sure the path is clear.... The Pirates were planning to jump the newly captured argonauts and the rest of their ships to nearby rendezvous point, towards a useless nearby star.... when the Spartans showed up and tried Comming, but notice the jamming, so started targetting the unusual ships that joined the Drone Military Convoy.... the Spartan ships was a Warlock escorted by smaller ships and fighters. the Drone escorts started turning towards them while the argonauts and disguised pirate escorts were moving away from them..... The Spartans initially thought that the Pirates somehow took over the Drone escorts and started targetting... after a few shots at them, while moving towards the run away argonauts, that the Drone ships are not firing, they are simply moving towards them, some in a collision course with Spartan ships, which they barely avoided... they past the Drone ships which were probably decoys and left them go on their straight course to nowhere, which they will take care of them later.... since the Argonauts are slow, the SPartan ships will overtake them, so the Pirate Escort ships started to turn around, to do hit and run strikes at the edge of weapon ranges. Pirate ships are some Nautilus-class Destroyers and some various past captured or 'bought' Corvettes to Destroyers.
The Smaller SPartan ships duke it out with them while the bigger Warlock and escorts continued moving towards the Argonauts... as soon as the argonauts were within Torp range, the Warlock and some bigger escorts started firing some torps/anti-ship missiles, which blasted the aft engine section of an Pirate Argonaut, and simply damaged the Drone and other Argonaut...which then FTLed towards that system, planning to stop at the rendezvous just outside of the system. When they got to rendezvous, the ships they were expected weren't there, so they started to worry... the Pirate Argonaut is where the Novans leader is located, sad that the other Pirate Argonaut couldn't jump. few minutes later, while they quickly trying to take care of damages when the Warlock and two of their escorting Cruisers jump nearby, after detecting the Drone Argonaut from long range... not the Pirate one as it was carrying some Stealth Hardware, but sees her after jumping.... assuming their FTL were damage and it failed right after making the jump...... The Warlock and Cruisers was just about to get in weapons range when another Warlock escorted by Nautilus Destroyers and Wolverine Strike Cruisers jumped in and quickly started firing at them... Joe Novam after seeing a new Warlock jumping in, thought they were dead meat...but realize it was Kane's captured Warlock and fellow Wolverine escorts when it started firing on the Spartans, catching them by surprise which was very rare with Spartans. the Spartan Warlock and cruisers where blasted to pieces, barely able to give proper resistance. after the battle, Kane contacts Joe Nova, thanking him while saying he can keep the Drone Argonaut to replace the other lost one who got finish off by spartan ships, but takes the ten detachable Cargo Pods, which where lays the Droids and other stuff ment for a Drone runned Spartan Ship Yard. Will get recompensated via usual Pirate channels. Joe Nova was a bit grumpy about it, what to do with the surviving Drone Argonaut crew? will think of something later (drop off at some small independent colony), but was happy that 2/3 thirds of the Novan Pirate escorts survived as they jumpy into the area, with minor to medium damage, some carrying escape pods of the destroyed novan ships....including everybody from the destroyed Argonaut which one of them was his Second-in-Command who has been complaining about this high risk mission from the start, when Joe accepted it from Kane.
Will eventually do the stats of the Argonaut ship, maybe a simple gif pic of how it looks like, and how it is carrying the 10 Cargo Pods. hoping to have the Argonauts becoming a popular medium merchant cruiser, which can easily be modified for other missions, even a cheap arse military cruiser.... which is 1km long.

Well, then, Mellian...
Since InEn is getting done in...a major morale boost for the Morganites that will be... I think that Morgan could scrape up some fine terms for peace. The suit for peace would be equally balanced, I think, and Morgan is willing to pay some substantial sums for it. The colony systems mean little to Morgan besides their material worth, the minerals that come from them, etc. They are under-populated (mostly machine run) and there are no large planets in them, but if Terra wants to keep them, Morgan will simply have to keep Capella, he's not about to make a deal for nothing, I'm afraid. As much as he wants peace, he isn't going to settle anything except the terms he wants.
If Morgan's terms don't work, what would Terran terms be?

Now, suhs, I have most honorably replied to good old Mellian, and now Lonestar shall get his reply as well.
Lonestar, sir, as much as the Protectorate is one nasty little bunch, I'm sure the CEO wouldn't mind making contact with them at some point...unless Ku has managed to murder all your spies by now, which is highly probably knowing him...Perhaps some deals might even be reached, that is until Sparta finally learns what you've been doing with their ships all these years. Alchemax, eh? Well, if they have good products, maybe we can trade, and if they don't have good products maybe we can teach.
Monsieur President, good work monsieur!

The thing is, the Terrans won't be the ones seeking a Peace deal ...until they gain as much as they can from the morganites, crippling them a bit.
meaning, chances of Morgan getting anything back is very low.

quote: Mellian has promised me that no pirates are in my territory. Seeing as how our shipping lanes are protected, it would be very bloody to launch a raid. Although colonies outside of Hive territory would have a harder time protecting their shipping. But since Hive command knows what's happening in our territory, all I can say is....It's your funeral.
|
Promised there won't be any pirate holdings or much pirate activity within Hive territory, doesn't mean any pirates will enter that area in the future Even then, no Pirates will trust the Protectorate....mainly because, they don't know much about them.... besides, there is not much of trading in Hive space, just logistic supply runs, that isn't set in any peticular routes...and pirates heard the stories of some other pirates daring enough to enter Hive space......... Another thing, Kane would be more insteresed in working with the Hive then with the Protectorate, whom he barely knows of. Right now, no Pirates ships in Hive space....
quote:
Kass,
Good 4 U dude, now go hook-it-up!
To the Terran authors (Kass and Mellian)-
Who should I talk to for Hive cooperation? |
Coalition would be more interested... Kerensky will be harder to deal with, has he knows better problem with dealing with the Coalition is, there will have friction between them and the TAF....and who do you think will win if a spark happens? if Hive helps the Coalition during that spark, would only prolong the spark and destablelize the Terran Alliance while fighting the Morganites, and other factions. So seriously depends on Hive's interests... but Kass and I agree that there should be minimal Chironian influence during the quick spark, if it ever happens.
It is possible to deal with Kerensky, just that Hive won't be able to influence him much...unless Hive interests parallels the TAF's (which will later become the TAAF)...like the influence they can have with the Coalition, who will be the instigator of the spark, if it happens. One of the best help the Hive can give is have Hive agents within TA to go after some of the other CHironians agents...like the Spartans or even military help.... or/and make a deal with Kane or some other to help out.... Isn't Hive interest to destablelize the other Chironians by making them worry about TA and have Pirate problems?
Sure the Manifest destiny threatens the Hive aswell, but doubt it will be Hive's front door problem for another century or two like TA is now for the Morganites, Drones, Spartans, Believers, and the Peacekeepers.
