No worries Gav... good luck in the tourney.
Bulletproof players, since you're new like me, it may interest you to know, if you didn't already, that after questioning Gav revealed to me that it is not kosha to play each turn until you get the best outcome possible and then save and send it. Each turn may be played only once. I assume there is no way to check this, so it relies on honesty.
I must confess that I played the 1st turn about 4 times to plan good city locations, and for this I apologise. I promise it will not happen again. However, given that it was a crucial stage of the game, I'm inviting you all now to call a mis-game, and to start again. I will understand. On the other hand, if you're all prepared to forgive me and continue, I am more than happy to proceed.
Your call Bulletproof players... what do you say?

I may get shot for this but you know what Honesty is the cure. On the other hand there is no way to check on this so...The way I personally view it is spies, spies every where... Lets face it that is what makes PBEM different. You have to play smart do not think you can do online stuff it will not work. Even if the other player does not know your move his ally might and give them the info. One thing not to do is advance the turns to see the out come. Adjust your turns yes, IMHO after all thats what special units are made for
You should start a poll and a new thread to get the over all votes on this fact of PBEM This is a democracy and we all have a say so go for it. Welcome aboard people BTW one of the fastest game starts I have seen cudos to all!!!!!!

Well, partially it is my fault too.
I haven't managed to complete the second version of PBEM Rules so you can't be aware of any rule right now.
In the rules it is mentioned that multiple reload of a turn for trying different results is not permitted.
I can restart the game if all agree but in such an early stage I don't think there will ba any difference.

*shrugs* I'm glad I even decided to stop by... I've recently been able to only have time to check my e-mail, and since I haven't made contact with anybody I decided it wouldn't be a big deal not to stop by to read the threads.
Personally, I don't care. Your cities are in the prime locations you found to build them in one turn, congratulations. Certainly you got to see a little bit more of your map at the beginning than the rest of us, but by this point that advantage has certainly been derailed if everybody is using their mounted archer from the mod lite like they should.
I've recieved turn 4, I've sent it, I'm going to happily stick with this game, because the minor advantage you had at the beginning is long gone even now.
That, and we'll just all hunt you out and kill you in game j/k
My people are happy with the lands the gods have placed us within and are soon going to name me king as a result... so as you can see, I'm quite happy with how things are.
It's simply another newbie mistake, one any of us could have made, and as I said before, I'm fine with going ahead... what I'm surprised about is that this game didn't offer some kind of warning like SMAC does... I suppose Firaxis is more paranoid than Activision?
