Wow, what a pain in the arse that was. General AI switching all my production and I beleive messing with some of my specialist setups. Anyway, Stalin has sent all of the men responsible for these crimes to the new Katyusha firing ranges in the western Urals, they needed some targets.
This month saw the Soviet Union lick its wounds after the Great Officer's Equestrian Pustch was thwarted with ease. Once the horses bodies were bulldozed out of the way, the tanks began to roll once again.
The immediate goal was to recapture Frankfurt, and reopen the gates to Berlin. This was accomplished by a devastating air raid by our heavy bombers on the Veteran Panzers entrenched in the city.
A flight of IL-2s then took to the sky to clear out the masses of German armour to the west of the city, waiting in anticipation of our tanks. Once cleared, the fight for the capital began again. Once again, Spanish fascists met their doom at the hands of our beyonetts. The capital was taken after the destruction of more German tanks.
Vasily Kleshnikov then ordered the immediate area surrounding Berlin to be cleard of hostiles as well. To the west, Magdeberg fell to our troops. To the south, Dresden became another city liberated by bolshevist might. Only Rostok remains as the lone german holdout east of the river Elbe.
In the South, an attack was launched from 3 fronts on the city of Wien. Desparately defended by bunkers, this city was touch to crack. But in doing so, the Soviet forces in the South destroyed an elite SS Panzer Division, believed to be the 'Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler'. The General in command was killed in his command vehicle, but several lesser offiziers were taken prisoner.
-Frankfurt, Berlin, Magdeberg, Dresden, Wien captured.
-Vasily Kleshnikov

It was really quite easy Pinky:
On turn one I traded technologies with the French player to attain Mass Production. However, Mass Production is also the tech the Soviets are researching from the start. This means that I am then able, on turn 2, to begin researching the tech giving me T-34, Kv's 1 & 2 (Soviet Tanks I, I believe) whilst adding the research ammased toward Mass production to the tanks research.
I proceeded to rushbuild Munitions Plants or whatever comes from Mass Production in the Ural cities. This turned out to be unneeded as alot of my production ended up being from rushbuying anyway.
Then, I went through every single Soviet city and removed city workers and hired scientists. I also bought Laboratories in the Big 3 cities, and maybe amfew others, but on the whole I used mostly Einsteins. The Soviets huge population allows me to remove tons of workers, really boosting things up. With luxuries non-existant, taxes at their minimum, and science in full gear, I managed to reduce my turns per tech to about 4. You can even look at some of the early posts in this thread by me and note that I refer to a famine and starvation in my cities. They don't need food when all I need is science!
4 turns down the road, I get my tanks, BAM. Now its off to the races. I go in and change every sceintist to a tax collector, and set my tax rate to the max cash available. I earned in the order of 1,000-1,200 golds per turn, allowing me to rushbuy T-34's and Red Armies ad nauseam, all whilst at peace with everyone in the game.
A bit of diplomacy with the first Axis player granted me some breathing room, and he apparently moved his army in position to invade Spain. When I struck first in Rumania, I faced little opposition. Please also note that my initial target for the invasion was met, the Ploesti Oil Refinery. It is Hoover's Dam in the game, and being able to capture it so early in the game (December 1940) both greatly increased my natural production, as well as deny it to the Axis.
The one thing I did sacrifice in the initial invasions was airpower. I didnt have enough fighters, and Germany's bombers let me know that real quick like. I remidied that by taking away a bit form the T-34 production, but I was only loosing 6+ per turn. When I am making 15+ I dont mind those casualties.
