Everyone that has posted is in... The Map is gonna be a giga land- Everyone will start with 5 Settlers, 10,000 gold and 10,000 public works.... Team mates will not be located next to each other... HOWEVER a warrior of yours will be next to team mates start settlers, so you can exchange maps and techs and link up early.... I will not be playing.... I will moderate, and anticipate having three teams of 3 3 and 2 respectively.... the two player team will be Veteran Players, the three Player teams will be a Veteran and two newbies.... There will be a period of peace enforced, after that war may begin..... Victory will be total annihilation..... Wonders may be built but ONLY a Military Victory wins the game.

War in CTP is started by only two things, Pillaging or attack, stealth units Clerics, and other Subversives are not capable of starting a war..... So u make of it what you will

I reckon 40 turns of non warfare is sufficient?? Gives time for team mates to link up and develop a strategy? Allows plenty of time for exploration of a Giga map too..

I'm discovering in my 1on1 game with Nimrod that a peace treaty that allows slavers and clerics is highly stressful. A perfectly good defense against such tactics in normal circumstances is an all-out onslaught...where hopefully youll have the edge because the other guy was building specialty units....

So if youre morally opposed to sneaky units, the peace treaty sort of penalizes you for it. (10000 starting gold means soothsaying is practically free, and indefensible without a cleric in every key city)

So I guess I'm angling at a Non-Aggression Pact with no malicious units used at all, or else no peace treaty at all.

this is just a thought, please disagree, debate, and go ahead with the peace treaty anyway...i just thought id throw this onto the table

Seige, I think it is good to debate the terms of peace, I for one am opposed to Stealth Units full stop..... Mainly for the reasons you give... If you temporarily or permanently wish to ban certain units,if a consensus is reached I will enforce such a ban in my moderation of the game.

From what I have read in these forums not many people use stealth units unless a slaver is stacked with an army. Recently I have been daboling more with unconventional warfare. If a person does not have walls, I would rather convert than soothsay, or you can have a team selling indulgances in cities for more gold.

I like the 40-turn no killing rule. As for unconventional warfare, I think it will get a little crazy if we start out with 10,000 gold. I vote to ban unconventional warfare for the first 40 turns, or else to start out with a more reasonable amount of gold, say 500.

Just my 2 cents...

I am begining to use slavers stacked and by themselves but if ruled out, is ok. but clerics i just like to kill, you know bad blood and all that. so will abide the majority vote/

I have no objections to unconventional warfare in general, however I like to have the option of conventional retaliation so I guess if we are to have a peace treaty for 40 turns, I vote that it includes stealth attacks.

Will we be notified of who our teammates are, or do we surmise that from where we have our warriors?

Okay two issues..... firstly yes stealth attacks then will be banned for 40 turns.... don't even try building them for spying... that seems to be the consensus... secondly start gold and PW were as a replavement to accelerated start - ( I don't want you wandering too far when there are 8 players in game with first settlers) IF you feel 10,000 gold is too much (i never play with that much gold) it can be edited, However I want to stick with the public works.... as no doubt u will all have a forest start - and roads are expensive to build...

One other issue.... IF you don't like your start land.... Pray to the moderator God, and I will (if I think it is necessary) tell u which direction better land is located in.

If there are no preferred team associations I will set them and post them on Friday.

Further Keygen is starting some team games, and if you like working in the teams you are in and all team members agree, then we can start a team league

I'd suggest us starting an e-mail group with our three e-mail addresses (and of course, this is a good suggestion for any of the teams) so that we can discuss plans and such.
