apolyton.net still takes me to your school. But just typing the ip-number of the new server now takes me to the forum front page.

Same here. Apolyton.net and www.moo3.net take me to Mark's school. The others now work (surfing from work; I'll try it at home in 30 minutes.

civilization2.net, www.civilization2.net, moo3.net and www.civilization3.net don't display anything.

www.apolyton.net works perfectly,

the IP address displays the forum main page,

all the others (apolyton.net, apolyton.com, www.apolyton.com, civilization3.net, www.moo3.net) redirect to apolyton.net, which in turn displays the university page.

I run my own DNS server and resolve via root servers. After I flushed the cache, and used ipconfig /flushdns, apolyton.net is OK for me. www.apolyton.net still points to the university, but does a redirect after loading the page. It redirects to an IP based address.

apolyton.com redirects to apolyton.net ok, as do the others.

Note that most ISPs will cache your and everyone elses DNS requests, and unless you have a real nice tech dept, they won't flush their cache.

You can flush the local dns resolver cache (at least on NT, 2000 and xp machines) with ipconfig /flushdns

Figuring out DNS is really tough the first time around, always a learning process. You can have utterly transparent moves... but its not easy. I can tell you from experience.

It's fast, not hyperfast, but fast... Then again, the images and stuff might load quickly, but since I'm on Lynx, I don't really notice the time spared there .

Oh dear.. now apolyton.net now seems to be doing the same thing as www.apolyton.net: going to the university and then redirecting to an IP.

Oh well... Apolyton thy name is 64.246.32.51.
