Thanks, Tia...my Dad was on Death's door when I did it, and I swear it contributed to him pulling through.
The nice side effect is that it also gives you something to do that doesn't entail going out of your tree with worry.
Try the Tao of Pooh or something in that vein as well...but if you already have the right book...stick with it.

This thread is actually one of the very few I'm continuously following, hoping that Tia comes up with some good news. Maybe it's just because I'll be a parent soon and start feeling more with people whose children are sick. Whatever it is, I'm really thinking about you and your daughter.

I'm sorry there hasn't been an update but I haven't left the hospital in the last two days. If I do she gets more upset and aggitated. We are on day 6. The one good thing is that the fever seems to be going down. They keep replacing her potassium and yesterday started her on magniesium (sp?) to tired to try to figure out spellings. Had about 17 hours of sleep in the last 6 days.

Dr. Stranglove ~ it started last Sunday with complaints of a sore throat. We took her to the doctor on Monday he said it was strep and gave her amoxicillin. The next two days she complained that her back hurt along with her throat and that her legs hurt so bad that it hurt to walk. By Wednesday morning she was begging Self to take her to the emergency room while I was at work and you know the rest from there.

It makes it very hard as a parent to sit back and watch and to feel so helpless. Again thanks Sneak, the book reading seems to be the only thing that takes her mind off the pain momentarily. It makes for a nice diverson.

Hopefully we should get some test results back today and hopefully I will be able to report good news.

This is both the best and worst thread I've ever read here. The problem itself is deeply upsetting, but the way everybody has rallied in support is just beautiful

I am acutally going to get on my aol and leave that up for a while so if anyone wants to talk.......I'll be here for a while. Thanks. I'm keeping good thoughts that we are on the downhill side. They still don't know what the cause is but maybe by today we will have news.

Thanks to everyone here who has kept us in your thoughts. I believe in the power of positive thinking. Maybe that would explain why her temp is dropping. It really has been quite a blessing to have everyones support. Thank you agian from the bottom of our hearts.

**sigh** that would be the sigh of relief No fever now for the past 24 hours. They took her off the IV's but left that thingy in her hand just in case, and she is eating...all be it jello and broth but eating she is She is still quite the cranky little one when the mood strikes, but I can't say that I blame her. No test results from the work they did, but they are hopeful tomorrow. Right now it just looks like some mutant strain of Strep G which according to the doctor is the best news because he can cure that. I would have to agree

If she continues on this course they will probably relase her tomorrow or the next day, I hope. Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts and well wishes. I believe it made a difference for her. I know it did for me. Words can not begin to express what a wonderful feeling it has been to read all the kind words.

Now if you will excuse me I am off to bed for some much needed sleep. I never thought a bed could feel so good **yawn** good night everyone and thank you again for everything.
