Well, I recently acquired MGE (I've had ToT for a while, but it seems that few play ToT here). Let's say I'm scouting here, looking for pearls of wisdom before I jump into MP.

Speaking of that second settler, just a quick question for all you people: how long do you keep that unit around? For me, I like to not settle a second city with it, and make it my designated worker for my capital city and building connections between my capital and the subsequent cities I build...

p.s. I just recently got an mp version of civ 2 and I'm gonna be trying to get a game going with it sometime next week.

p.p.s. I am truly horrible at single player diety. I mean the computer is really whooping me bad. I can compete, and keep up, but there is no way I can match the way the computer advances. Any advice?

In a SP game, you can get away with not using that settler to create a city ASAP... But in MP, growth is exponential, so that settler should be used to create a city the second you find a half ass location for it.

If you want to try a little MP for practice, let me know. While I'm not the best... I'll walk you through the basics

Or if you find 50 gold in your first hut you can have the settler wonder around for a bit untill you have your third settler build.

monolith94, let us know when you have finished slaying your physics dragon. Make sure you download the patch. And it's never a bad idea to test it with someone prior to comitting to a game. Nothing worse then having 4 people hot to trot to play and then have technical difficulties trying to start it up.
