Yeah, when ye put it like that, things don't look too bad.

One has food, shelter, computer, four cats (one of which has a pathological desire to attack my poor feet all the time), parents, friends, the aforesaid tie collection, live in a good place, all limbs and faculties intact (well, the latter is debatable ), a good education, a degree.
One does have several big, important papers due in the next month (including two worth 50% of Honours year three days after my 21st ) and just the feeling that something is missing, somehow.

But that is fine, being an evil celibate monk. Unhappiness and loneliness is a good and enjoyable thing

Actually all things considered, today's been a really good day. No a great day! So I'm enjoying it immensly

The weather is great, my kid is out of the hospital and we are going to the beach this weekend (hopefully) if she's ok to travel so all seems to be right with the world.

I've got an assignment due today, one on Friday, and need to start / finish 3 seperate programming tasks within 3 weeks. I'm kinda feeling a little stressed. Besides I'm tired, the weather is cold, and on the way to uni today some crazy bastard driver tried to run his car into mine.

Other than that, I'm quite happy.

I'm not raining on anyone's happiness. I was merely trying to make a funny remark on the things you wrote. If it was not funny, then I'm sorry, I did not wanted to offend anyone.

FYI, I have friends and I am truly happy when they are happy. I think it is good that BW is happy. Happiness is something that all of us should be experiencing all the time.

And I said that BW should enjoy the moment and seize the day. I said that precisely because I know how important a thing happiness is.

We have a lovely baby, our relationship is rock solid, income is closing in on 6-figures, assets are over a quarter million, both cars are paid for, credit card debt is less than $500, I'm on path to earning my MBA in a couple of years, we are great parents with a happy child, life is good.

VERY good. This is what I expected adulthood to be like, and I'm not disappointed.

I'm getting to a point where I can say I'm happy.

I've lost 20 pounds in the last year to get down to 182 (this morning). I'm a 30 inch waste (from a 40 two years ago). I'm much more confident in my love life. I've got 4 more semesters worth of classes until I get my Bachelors in Comp Science. I'm getting a 4.0 so far this semester and I've only got 3 more weeks to go!

But there is some gloom in my silver-lined cloud:

I just broke up with a girl who I thought was the one, but turned out to be a complete psycho-hose-beast. One of my cats died 2 months ago. I'm getting sick of this sh!tty record low, cold, rainy spring Midwest weather!

Things are definitely improving, though. Good luck with your new career BW!
