Ok here is something I don't normal do......I'm gonna apoligize for my earlier comments........they weren't really flaming but after later refelections I realize that I was out of line. I'll play it out (should be over for me the next sessions) I don't want to be labled as a quiter and a whinner but thats what a did.....Markus I realize that you were only trying to help, I took it out of context. I'm not a great as player as you and you were trying to steer me in good direction.....I took your words wrong.....

Well i am sorry to, i got snappy with you after you didn't seem to understand the island thing, after playing so many games i tend to lose patience fast 
A caravan costs 125 gold to rush buy, if i rush buy one and send it to you, i make between 25 -189 gold. (majority are at 80). THis means i make 80 science and 80 gold for the average caravan. As you can see 80 gold doesn't cover the cost of the caravan. If diety sends one, he makes 150-230 gold for his worst caravan, and 400-600 ish for demand goods. As you can see for diety he makes a profit per caravan of between 25-300 gold + # of gold in science. If he sends only 2-4 caravans a turn he can get 1 tech a turn for the majority of the game. This means he could set his science rate to 10% and still make 1 tech a turn... This is what i ment, by only gold matters, all this extra gold can be used to rush buy city improvements/caravans, once you start the gold just keeps climbing. Doing this you can easilly make 20,000 gold before the discovery of invention, and that buys a lot of stuff...
