Like I said before, Saudi Arabia have a bit of history. Remember when they got to the second round, with that Owairan goal against Belgium?
It seems that everybody is questioning their right to be there, just because they had an awful match. If it was a European country no-one would have even thought of reducing the number of European nations because of it.

Not considering that they always thrash everybody in qualifying and foul it up at the tournaments.

Tough group, though. Partaguay and Slovenia aren't teams to roll over.

I think you'll that these 'crappy teams' often cause upsets (c.f. Saudi Arabia vs Belgium, Denmark winning the European Championships, Costa Rica beating Scotland). I bet you're for the formation of a European Super League for clubs, too, so that Gronigen win against Feyenoord can't be repeated.

So how do you pick which team will cause the upset beforehand, eh? How do you know that you won't pick a team that plays like the Saudis did today?
quote: Yes I am. I'd rather see PSV, Feyenoord and Ajax play against Arsenal and Barcelona than against Volendam and Groningen. | You would have denied Chievo, Bolton, and Lille their shots at glory for some league that would be far less passionate and exciting. Bleurgh.

Michael Laudrup didn't play on the winning Danish team in 1992. Denmark deserved to win, but we were still extremely lucky.

Lucky, sure, Denmark had an up and down team. I can see them as underdogs going in to the EC but they were up and they deserved to win.
EDIT: Dont forget that was the same team that destroyed the Swedes 6-0 (or so) and also beat the Brazilians ( I think) in Copenhagen.
