Personally i'd like to see byzantium. Perhaps the UU could be some sort of advanced defensive unit.

Marla's map. Rome where it should be, of course
Greece in the Peloponnese, Egypt and Carthage in their rightful places. Add Persia or Babylon, Russia, India, China, Mongolia, Japan, Zulu, America, Aztecs, Inca, Iroquois, Throw the Germans in Australia and you have a great 16 player game.

The Gauls and the Celts are probably the same civ. We are assuming the Celts will be in only because of one of the leaders, when he could be the Gaul leader.

On the Gaul/ Celt question. I believe that Julius Caesar said it best.
"Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres, quarum unam incolunt Belgae, aliam Aquitani, tertiam qui ipsorum lingua Celtae, nostra Galli appellantur."
"All Gaul is divided into three parts, one of which the Belgae inhabit, the Aquitani another, those who in their own language are called Celts, in our Gauls, the third."
I would think that it's probably more appropriate to call these peoples Celts, since that is what they call themselves in Celtic (or Gaelic.) But then again they do use the anglicized name Japan instead of Nippon, so who knows how it will end up...

On the other hand, I'm very glad to see the inclusion of BOTH the Ottomans and Arabs. For those who think they're the same... read your history!!!
The Ottomans were NOT Arabs-- they were Turks, and they dominated the Middle East for centuries, as the Arabs did. They are both quite worthwhile for inclusion.
The list should have been
Arabs
Ottomans
Hebrews
Incas
Mongols
Vikings
Ethiopians
Spanish
