I think homosexuals still have a higher risk than heterosexuals in stuff like HIV, but I also recall hearing of herpes being more prevalent in heterosexuals by a good margin.

It all is kinda moot since you're always to wear protection anyway.

Hmm, I decided to come on here today before the party.

I know how to use contraception, but I wouldn't have full sex with him yet anyway. As I've said before, oral and stuff is OK, but I'm not sure I'm ready for full sex.

And I'm not one to be pressured into doing something I don't want to.

And to the AIDS debate, more homosexuals in the UK have it, but there are more heterosexuals getting it now than gay people, who are listening to the 'safe sex' message far more now.

In third world countries more heterosexuals have it, overall on Earth, straight women have AIDS most (probably down to third world prostitution).

I thought I was behind the curve on this so I did some checking at the CDC. I do research on STD but not HIV. I think you are confusing incidence and prevelance with risk of transmission. Incidence and prevelance are indeed highest amongst hetero's in absolute numbers, but not as percentages of total. A stunning figure that has come out of a recent retroviral conference was an incidence rate of ~30% in black homosexual males while 10% in white males. Risk of transmission remains highest in MSM compared to IV drug users (2nd) then hetero's. I couldnt find any hard numbers that break that down further. All I've found so far is that the risk of HIV transmission male to female is 8 times higher than female to male (this is no surprise its common to a lot of STD that I do study).
