Don't try to convince Snappers to become classical music afficionado, Boris. You see, if our beloved anti-elitist (which, like antifascism and anti-Christ, is pretty much like elitism, except from whole 'nother perspective) happens to get idea that classical music is good rebellious (must remember to use the correct Snapcase terminology here), he might actually start listening to it, and then we have another form of music ruined by his far-out wacky theories and attempts to keep his view of music patched together to somehow look sensible. |
I have no problem with anyone disliking classical music for valid reasons--they just don't like the sounds, they find it "boring" or whatever. That's personal opinion, and that's fine. I dislike most music, I'd say, for the same reasons.
But to promote blatant fallacies as reasons behind it is what riles me. Look at the poster boy for classical music, Beethoven. He was a rebel! He openly sympathized with the French Revolution. He wrote his 3rd Symphony in honor of it, and dedicated it to Napoleon, whom he viewed as a hero of the revolution. When Napoleon crowned himself Emperor, Beethoven felt betrayed and furiously struck out the dedication, renaming the symphony "Eroica."

I've been here for forever and a day. About once every year, I start reading Apolyton again, and I post. Hehe, I go through phases. I'll prolly be around for a lil bit, then fade away for a looong time. Then I'll be back again.

from the known to most repertorium (akka foreign songs)
some ramones songs will get me anytime and specifically: Pet Cemetary, Somebody put something in my drink, Palisades Park, Bonzo goes to Bitburg, amongst others.
apart from those: another second time around
who finds the band that sing it wins a cookie and my everlasting gratitude
