I think overall, the quality of life as an average has stayed the same in 5000 years. Back then, there were certain people who were well off and others who weren't; it's the same today. For the 200-250 million Americans that live well, there are nearly 50 million living in poverty. And America is one of the best countries to live in, in terms of quality of life. Have you ever been to Mexico? Would you ever want to break your leg in Mexico and have to go to a Mexican hospital?

And Africa is a whole continent were the amount of people living in a high quality of life I could probably count on my two hands.

I would say quality of life today is far better for humans than it was 5000 years ago. Even being relatively poor in america today is living like a king compared to what it was like being poor 5000 years ago.

Quality of life is a relative concept. Most archaeo-anthropologists agree that people didn't work such long hours. Then again, they tended to be dead before hitting 35.

Long life then does not affect the quality of life. For some maybe, but you cannot come up with a standard equation for people's quality of life, so just drop it.

Yup... and its a shame too. Life is too short to hate someone for such a stupid reason. Oh well, if they're going to hate me for that, then they aren't worth liking anyways.

Suffering from ads?

It was already here 5000 years ago- you're looking at late Megalithic era there. Levels of pre-megalithic development such as the Woodhenges would suggest a fairly sophisticated infrastructure as far back as 7000 BC, and you'd expect that to accompany agriculture.
