for king x2x2 villages only....you can get away with NO defence....though i dont know why you wouldln't want at least one warrior, with his magical speed

But doesn't the "magical speed demon" explorer make some kind of defense a must in 2x movement game

yes but unless your eyes and you get an explorer by 3250 bc.. your first few cities are safe

its after that when looking at the saves and you realize its 1500bc and the guy had 20 non defended ciites that i shake my head....

too me this isn't civ

There's even less reason in 2x1x to defend your city's with the slow movement btw.

With these zonies they like 2x prod at King level and no barbs. Where is the challenge?

I just go for mil techs now and go at them from the start.

You never know how long it will be before they quit anyway.

Its good for practicing starts though - and war. That's why I go there.

We Aussies tend to have peaceful games with the regular group. I need blood.

Ya i played a couple of those.. I took 8 cities on the first turn with one of those guys by sending in 2 explores.. Of course they just quit and whine on the same turn. Where is the fun though? Its not as if a 2x 2x game ever gets past democracy with semi decent players
