Given the strenuous matches that SK has been in, their team is probably still reovering from exhaustion, so I'd give Germany a slightly better than even chance to win. Probably around 55% - 45%.

Put an end to popups!

It wasn't a 6-0 victory like you said. I'll be cheering for Korea because:

1) They are the underdog
2) Want to see a non Euro/Latino team advance
3) Germany sucks

My heart is with the Koreans. My mental faculties are with Germany. Come on! Midnight strikes for Cinderella at some point. Sorry Yin.

I would like to watch the news if Korea won it all though.

want to see korea win... because if they win, they'd play in japan, and it'd be great to get that far, for multiple reasons.

odds are, though, germany will win.

then again, my calls are usually bad. i've been a fan for korea, albeit a very pessimistic one, so. (helps cushion disappointment~ works with the atlanta braves in the postseason...)

He also handled co-hosts Japan's exit 1-0 at the hands of semi-finalists Turkey in the second round in Miyaki.

The Italian was named the best referee in the world for the fourth time in January. His impressive CV of top matches includes refereeing the 1996 Olympic final won by Nigeria.

England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson summed up his appeal: "Collina, he is a guarantee -- I guess he's one of the best, if not the best referee, in the world today."

LOL! Actually, I'm talking about another Meier who managed to completely underwhelm us all by delegating Civ3 to a bunch of clowns. That's for another thread, of course, but the name itself gives me great worries now as somebody who might let the linesmen make all the calls.

Excellent game to the Germans. Their tactics were very solid. They also had the skill to take at bad pass from Korea at midfield and turn the Korean defense, which was pulled too far up.

Excellent game also from Korea. While they never mounted many chances, their defense nearly held. One mistake. One goal. That's soccer.

I am very proud of Korea for playing world-class soccer. I wish them well trying for 3rd place!

Yes, a good game to Korea. Germany played a far superior game today than they did against the U.S. last week, and Korea held their own against it for a good deal.

While Korea played solid... I wouldn't call it an excellent game because of their almost TOTAL lack of any offense.
But their defense was indeed solid.

Congrats to Germany...

and to Korea for making it as far as they did

Haha. My predictions as usual people are overblown. But thank goodness Korea lost. Their spirit is shattered by the Germans. Yin, no longer can throw crap at me. And thank goodness they did not win again with the help from the referee. Is it just me or do these European referees know what they are doing? While those referees from African countries (Uganda, Benin, Togo, etc) some of which don´t even have a stadium did not?

Anyways, congrats on the win Germany. They may not be the best but at least Korea is out.
