Hmm, I saw it, but I didn't really pay attention. The only reason I'm using it is because my wife is using the address we got from our ISP. I'm not sure if I'll keep it. IIRC my ISP gives us five free addresses - I just never bothered to set up the extra ones. I may switch to one of those. Though I noticed that you get virus protection for your $50 as well. That might make it worthwhile.

Re: .Mac: I dont think it is worth it, but I have heard you can still use email (POP and less Space than the paid membership) when you are a trial member which is what you can convert yozr account to. Has been published somehwere, maybe macslash.com?
Oh, the virus protection doesnt really help, have you seen a mac virus lately?

Re: Jaguar: Will be cool. I just got a cheap graphics card on eba, hope it'll run on the mac (was a pc card).

You're right about the trial memberships... but they expire after 60-75 days.

But you're right about the virus protection... pretty useless.

True - I've never seen a mac virus.

My trial membership runs out in September. Apparently in August they are going to add some jaguar specific sweeteners to .mac. I'll make up my mind then. I'm a sucker for new OSs, so I may get suckered twice.

That's what my wife and I are waiting for too... we currently have OS X.1 (thank God I just "demoed" it ) but it really does suck... too unstable still, Jaguar, on the other hand, has a lot of really cool features that I like (handwriting->text via tablet and pen system.)

We're waiting 'till Semptember (probably the last couple of days of the trial membership) prior to signing on for a year... that way we don't lose any free days.

Aaargh! I hit "Save and Exit" by mistake on the first password screen, again! Hitting cancel on the resulting dialogue box didn't work. Whichever Firaxis coder designed that screen should be hung up by his thumbs till he swears never to do it again ... or something like that.
