What is a Ch. D.? It's not dentistry (DDS), it's not chiropractic (DC). Could it be a doctor of surgery (chirgurie) somewhere in Europe?

Seems to me he woulda been more comfie spelling "negro" with an "i", no "o", an extra "g", and move the "e" to behind the "g".
