Personally thinking, those rules are okay. It's a stupid thing to write anything in the flag. Who's going to read it anyway? Flag isn't a notepad/book.

that, and the busy rating? seriously, some other countries have busier flags than the korean one, yet are not marked...

Most flags colours mean something. That doesn't always mean that they look good together.
South Korea got ripped off though in the ratings.
Australia's was fair, although its not our fault we were forced to have UK's stuck on ours.

But when all is said and done, the guy is a teacher. Like they are known for objective marking.

The guy's next project should be rating the U.S. state flags. All those Southern flags with "We Lost"-symbol Confederate battle flag incorporated somehow deserve a special category by themselves. And there are some really really bad flags here:

Georgia's flag, which looks like it was designed by a committee.



Hawaii's flag, which, in addition to really ugly striping, has a flag of another nation (Colonial Nonsense!) in corner.



Maryland's flag. Less said the better.



New Jersey's flag has almost offensive background color.

In fact, most of American state flags suck balls. Design seems to be the same in about 50% of them - blue background and some kind of a coat-of-arms in the foreground. Indiana's flag is kinda neat, though.

Yep, yep, yep - you know that the number of stars around the outside are which state we were when we entered the Union.

Watch the first new Batman movie that came out in like '90. When they show a scene of the Mayor in his office the flag of Gotham is the Indiana State Flag.

Just plain stupid. The ratings should be based on what the flags mean, not how little you can get on the flag. Which it seems is his rating criteria. More than four stars gets a "too many stars" except if your Venezuela when seven is fine.

One star on a colored background is apparently perfection. That and tricolors. What a load of crap. Those flags are good but what do they mean. In my opinion the UK's flag is the best. And how can he say what I attached is too busy. There is very little going on. Oh well...

The Libyan flag changed in late 60's because of revolution by Gaddafi pretty
similar as the flag of egypt (then there we're lots of Arab-unionistical ****
going on there Arabical union was planned then to be a one nation, rather than confederacy
what it's now. Howewer, when Anwar Salad, the egyptian prez, tried to
have diplomatic relations to Israel, Gaddafi got crazy about it and made a new flag;
It is ment to represent islamic jihad without compromises, not even in the flag.

Gaddafi has cooled down and learned a lot about politics after that,
but, or maybe just because of that, he doesn't change his nation's flag
because of his personal opinions, which have changed radically during the last 20 years.

There are a lot of hideous flags in the world, minus Russia. And the United States flag IS too busy. Ever attempted to draw it?

If they were to replace the 50 stars with just the number "50", that would a much more logical flag, IMO. Or just use the Texas flag, that's good too.

Though of course, Japan: Now THAT'S a flag. Simple, Serious, and commands "Japan! Wow!"

You can see all the flags of the states of USA at this site .

Some of them are just painful to look at, like these: Arkansas, California, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaiji, Iowa, Maryland, Missisippi, Missouri (looks like some Latin-American communist country), Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

I think there's only a couple of decent looking flags.
Texas, New Mexico, Alabama and Arizona (in that order).

Could you (USA) change your flag to the flag of Texas. It's the best flag you've got by far.
