The war between Greeks and Germans must be stopped. I know that Germans attacked first, but now Greeks already prove thier courage and bravery and they win some significant battles. An armistice must be signed as soon as possible.
I hope Aztecs and Assyrians will be with Celts and if needed could send some units between German border and Greeks border.

Turn 90 -> Jon

I will only stop the War if both Aztecs and Germans do the following:
1. Propose a peace treaty for 30 turns which can be renewed after 20 turns.
2. Exchange maps.

These 2 must be done by the Aztecs-Germans in their turn and they must also not attack me in this turn. I will not accept a peace treaty if I got attacked or bombarded in previous turn (The Germans already made such a proposal once...)

I will not give cities back to the Germans since this war is only their fault.

Slamp you seem to ignore that I am at war with the Aztecs either! Only you and the Assyrians are allowed to send units in the region. I know the Aztecs could have submarines by now. If I find anything moving near my coast I will destroy it nomatter what agreement there might be!

Tired of ads?

I didn't know that you are in war with Aztecs too. I understand that only Assyrians and Celts units are authorize to enter lands and seas between Greeks and Germans/Aztecs.
I will send some ships asap.

Noble Slamp.

The BundesRepublich Deutschland does not require or request the prescence of Celtic 'Peace Keeping' Forces anywhere along the lines of conflict.

Third Party involvement is not only unneccessary but also wholly undesired.

Got spare money?

???
It seems there is no reason for me to play this game any more.
Having lost the 16 cities over size 4 I had to the barbarians, there is nothing I can do to correct the problem.
Although I can’t really say why this happened (I had a definite positive cash flow and over 200 gold deposit) I have to accept the AI’s decision.
But it seems to me that there is a problem in our game with calculating things...first there was the science problem (I had written about it although I didn’t get any answer...I suppose you wouldn’t know either)...
and now there is this gold calculating thing...
well have fun taking my...”many and well located” as the Germans once said cities...

Anyway I think I proved what the Greeks are capable of.... The Germans know and the Aztecs would soon find out...

Slamp please replay your turn and send the game to Don.

Strange...very strange... I just replayed my turn (turn90) excactly the same just leaving more gold (around 1000 instead of around 200) and in turn 91 I have more gold...I wish I knew what happend...

Anyway thanks for playing with me. I must say it was very interesting (although I fear I lost the most interesting part).

Hope to fight you in an other game soon...

16 cities revolted! I only had that happen to me once in a single player game. The first time I played at deity level, I just had just enacted democracy and got the "not enough money so wages are lowered" message. My capitol had pop 16, went from 78 happiness to 62 and promptly revolted. The other cities probably could have handled the wages unhappiness, but the loss of my capitol took out every city that had less than 80 happines the turn before. I went from celebrations to revolution in a matter of a few turns. Now I keep a close watch on the happiness meter.

Tilemacho, what other settings were you running at?

For you to get a Happiness Bonus upon City capture you must have been running a Democracy, bad for War anyway, so if your Capital rioted first you would have received no money from it but still had to pay for the improvements. Unhappiness is cumulative so if your people were overworked and underpaid or underfed they may have just rioted anyway. So if the Gold reserves were low suddenly you cannot pay the people and goodbye Capital. The rest of the Empire get's every other negative, Size, Distance, War...etc, plus No Gold and No Capital and you suddenly take a huge slide on the Happy Meter everywhere.

It has happened to me on a couple of occasions at the higher difficulty levels and I've seen beautiful Empires crumble before my very eyes both in Civ2 and CTP. I assume the method of calculation is similar to Civ2 in that each City is dealt with sequentially so the fact that you are running at an Empire wide positive cash flow does not matter it's just that at the time it is proccessing that particular City you do not have the money. Once auto-lowered the wages will not be upped for the remaining Cities so everyone suffers even though you emerge richer in Gold at the end of the Turn though minus a fair few Cities.

Jon: it is quite possible that you are right. I must admit I didn't play so many single player games and don't really now how the AI calculates things.
Anyway it seems really stupid to me what the game does. I mean even if I had a negative cash flow if the AI lowered the time of work silmutanusly there wouldn't be any problem with happiness.
Well I think I will just have to leave a lot of money in reserve from now on.

Slamp you are right. As the game is now there is pointless to play in this game since I will lose the remaining cities to the barbarians very soon.
I will tell you only this: before this insident I had a production of around 6000 for every turn. The 24 cities I posses now have a production of less than 1500.

I wish I could change things but I can't. So instead of playing and giving all my cities to Don (my best friend in this game) it is better I think to leave you all have a chance of gaining something.

Well have fun and I hope to see you in an other game soon...

Turn 92 -> Slamp

Looks like the AI saved the Greek civilization. Seems that when Slamp attached the AI to Tilemacho's civ, the AI changed the settings and prevented the city revolts. Maybe the AI should have been attached after Tilemacho played his turn?
