The fact that they killed a "cute dog" isn't the point. The fact that they likely can manufacture and use lethal chemical weapons, that's a significantly bigger deal.

If the tapes had showed them SHOOTING dogs, it wouldn't be on the news. Because it shows them using possibly sarin gas, THAT'S a big deal.

Sorry Connor, but while I won't go into wholesale ridicule like some of the others, I have to say that this is clearly propaganda with the purpose of stirring up the citizenry. I do not doubt the tapes are genuine, but as information, they have thus far been uselass. We already know Saddam has chemical agents; we knew it ten years ago. Why was this tape released? To show Americans that Saddam kills cute little dogs. If you think about it, even that dosen't make much sense except on an emotional level. We have Sarin gas. How do we know it works? Animal testing, of course.

it wasn't sarin. apparently, it was ricin (i believe that's how it's spelled), which is, iirc, ten times more lethal than phosgene.

As Q Cubed mentioned, it wasn't Saddam's tapes that they got. It's OBL's and Al Qaida's tapes. Saddam has a country. He's got chemical weapons and nukes and who knows what else. We've known this.

Al Qaida is NOT a country, it's an orginization. Until now, we DIDN'T know that they had chemical weapons capabilities.

Nobody on the news that I watched was making a big deal about them killing dogs, other than "if your a young person or easily disturbed, than don't watch." The big deal is, that OBL and co. has chemical weapons.
