na, i dont like dual duel as i stated before.
it just supports your aggressive military strategy too much quinns
thats not what i call 'equalizing' my friend
i will start the game and send you, then post the stats here.
but to compensate you for the loss of your favourite format, i will at least turn ruins off and wonders too if the latter doesnt crash your program like it did with shaved ape.
how do you turns wonders off then quinns ?
i just replaced the wonders.txt with a big 0.

okay here are the settings:
i just replaced the OBSOLETE_ADVANCE flag of all wonders except the wormhole sensor with toolmaking so none of them should be possible. if otherwise, please dont build.
diff: deity
barb: max
size: gigantic
poll: on
blood: off (only wonder allowed: wormhole sensor)
civs: 8 (so 6 AIs)
map settings (i swear i used a, though somewhat modified, random generator for them )
wet/dry 20%
warm/cold 90%
ocean/land 10%
island/continent 20%
uniform/diverse 100% (non-random, my standard)
goods 90%
i placed us in seat 5 and 8 respectively to not have any of us benefit from the river tendency of the early civs but to still have us somewhat distant from one another.
i hope this is all fine for you.
if not please tell me before looking at your first turn
or at least right away after
have fun

Blue definitely has, at least, a slight advantage over Orange though. No question about it. Sometimes it is more than "slight". Hence the attempt to equalize with the dual-duel...

blue over orange even ?
i didnt know that.
but to compensate that we are now in pos 5 and 8.

No matter, though, Mathemagician. Go ahead with everything just the way you want it! It will be a good challenge. |
yes it will.
oh but you wouldnt call it cheating if first bought a UNIT then changed to a BUILDING like i accidentally once did in MP

Dang, Mathemagician, that's pretty decisive I'd say. What was the AI set on? Are you ready to defend your ranking? I'm calling you out
-David42one |
what is pretty decisive ? i didnt get that i think...
which AI ? in my game vs. quinns ? the positions ? or the difficulty ? well, we're deity and took pos 5 and 8 so the AIs are the rest or what do you mean ?
as for my ranking, well it could be better
hmm. im quite full of games for my tastes. i will answer that later on today if you dont mind...

oh, then the AI was prince or king i assume. cant remember anymore. oh, ape set up the match i think. yes, that was it. ask him
as for your challenge. as long as you dont mind that my turns take 2 days sometimes (rarely it should be) i accept.
you can choose any settings you like, except the dual duel please
donut would be nice but i can live with earth world too.
as long as i get informed at the start of the game (and remember the settings later on :confused everything is okay for me.
though i like to play my own civ, the powerful Dornheimer, which requires me to start, its okay if you set it up. just give me the turkish then.

turns:
quinns - 1
interesting start i have. hope youre content too.
no wait. i hope youre not content.
BirdMan - 39
finally the turns get interesting...
Geoffrey - 74 (fun game only)
Ha ! giving up on wonders when your opponent starts to build them ? who does that ?
got pretty respect of me, huh ?
Hatschy - 157
this is the most interesting game i have, not only because its the furthest ladder game.
we're still close to each other in power graph. everyone got some advantages and disadvantages (dont want to say more). sure will stay interesting...
Becky - 220 (fun game only)
hmm..
i spend like 10.000 PW each turn, partly on changing grassland to plains that says all.
well, my genetically altered cattle doesnt need grass anymore i guess.
besides, they're going to my space colonies now anyways.
oh i think Becky recently discovered the wheel. thumbs up.
Taladas game, the second:
delete that, quinns, in case you counted it for the ladder. i doubt Taladas will play CTP games anymore. at least not for a while.
by then, he will certainly have forgotten of our running game.

maybe you could note in the first post in this thread how to turn wonders off. i could think of different ways though im not sure which one will actually work... |
Thanks Math. But I'll wait to see if it works, completely, first before noting it in the first post of this thread. The turn 0 you sent me was named "UNKNOWN_PARAMETER_VALUE" with no extension. I had to add the ".csg" to the end of it, then it opened fine. But that isn't a good sign... Maybe that "wonders off" modification caused it. Do you know?

Math, I think your having trouble with your email on your end. I sent my turn 3 to you on Tuesday and I don't think you got that one either.
