Turn 155 > Keygen

Peaceloving Japanese and friends, we are still expecting promised technology (robotics?). Be so kind and let us know how many turns we must wait.

Ecological issue - important!!!
As you all know we have already gone through one ecological disaster. Now, with robotic plants near our hands things can worsen easy.
We the Mayans propose that NO robotic plants will be build till new cleaning technology is found.
For verifying this any nation can demand inspection (via spy or similar) of any of five most polluting cities on the world. Each nation has one inspection per ten turns.
Save the NoFunLand!!

The Americans announce the construction of a recycling center in Washington, DC, but they also not the Mayans have the most polluting cities.

Mayan proposal is, not to use future technology - ROBOTICS PLANTS. Nothing more.
We can agree on the matter or not, but our proposal is here.

"Robotics" will be sent to you sortly
2-3 turns from now if I remember correctly.

Though the first global ecological disaster was quite beneficial for the Hellenic nation - more usuful sea tiles than swamps and a larger river in the greater metropolitan area of Athens - we agree on taking measurements in eliminating the risk of a second ecological disaster.

However signing up an agreement that no mega mines will be built is somewhat of an early and rush decission. We still have the technology to build recycling centers and nuclear plants to reduce pollution. If that doesn't work we can temporary limit the construction of mega mines or even reduce working allocation to production.

Turn 156 to Aeroprinz.

The issue before us isn't whether or not to build robotic plants, but whether or not pollution will be reduced. What good does it do our precious world if we ban robotic plants, only to see another ecological disaster due to ever-increasing pollution levels? Therefore, I think that we need to make an agreement to cut pollution, and leave the method to each individual nation.

Put an end to popups!

Any suggestion how?
Here is again Mayan proposal:
Each city pollution is limited to 80 pollution points (from diplomacy screen).
How about penalties?

I don't think any of my cities are at 80 pollution points, if every nation had every city at 80 pollution points, our world would be a disaster zone. This proposal will not work. Perhaps, like another world leader I know of, you get your environmental facts from your friends in the oil industry?

Seriously, though, there are many ways to reduce pollution. One is by reducing production directly by not working high production tiles(like mountains). I realize that none of us want to do this, but if we're going to solve this crisis we will all have to make sacrifices. Another method for reducing pollution is by building pollution reducing improvements, such as nuclear plants and recycling centers. However, as I stated earlier, I believe that the methods for reducing pollution should be left to the individual leader of each civ. Robotic plants are huge polluters, I agree, but so are airports. I haven't been building airports for just this reason, and for the same reason will not be building robotic plants.

If there is a flaw in my logic, please point it out. Otherwise, we must all agree on cutting overall pollution by a certain amount, say 30% in 5 turns, and we must agree on penalties should this action not be taken.

All I can say is, that the Irish people already are making/planning recyckling plants in any city, where my beloved people tells me, that the pollution is too high.

I simply can't let the happiness of my people have more weight than just production and pollution

I don't understand, why would you limit the pollution of just one city? Overall pollution needs to be curbed.

It's much easier to control pollution of each city.
Without polluting cities there won't be overall pollution either.

Oh I agree, pollution management has to be done city by city. So can we all agree to each cut our civs pollution by 30-35% in the next 10 turns, and to keep pollution at that level or lower?

Without maximizing city pollution whole thing will simply not work.
But we agree. In fact we just cut pollution for 70 % and are 35 % below goal for now.
But as I said, until we'll have cities like Washington with pollution near 200 our future is grim.

Turn 157 to Nukeboy.

The Japanese people applaud the Mayan empire for their hard work in reducing pollution, your peoples sacrifice has set an example for the rest of us.

At the same time, the Japanese are puzzled over recent Mayan naval maneuvers. We trust that the Mayan destroyers that currently occupy a Japanese fishery are just passing through, and will vacate the tile as soon as possible.
