It has been so long since there was any report of turns being sent that there are cobwebs on the thread.

Stavros, did you ever "next" Solver? I would really like to see this game continue, I have after all spent quite a long time pondering over it!

Turn to Blackice.

Downtown in a small viking city, Hagar the Beast was visiting a local inn, known to sailors, smugglers and merchants. A real good place if you wanted to hear news and other rumours.

And for sure, Hagar wanted to hear news. Some had told him, that here should be men, who knew facts about the new leader of France.

Of course, he wouldn't like to be recognised, so Hagar changed his armour with some old clothes before he joined the drinking crowd. No one seemed to take notice of him.

"Fine!" Hagar said silently for himslef. "Real fine".

Suddenly. Someone padded him on his shoulder. "Hello Hagar". What are you doing here? And dressed like a begger?! Trouble with you wife again ehhhh????".

"YOUR.... ! Ohh, hello my dear Blacksmith. I should say the same to you??"

"No, I just here because of this new shipment with some real good stuff. You know. Special offer, just for me ."

"Ok, I came here to hear news about this new guy in France. He who offered peace and that I accepted."

"Well, we do not know much about him. Except the rumour says his family left France centuries ago. Since then his family has popped up from time to time, either as a kind of leaders of a nation or as a warlord. No one can remember why made them leave so long time ago ----- but it should have been very serious.

If you want, I'll try to get more info about him for you".

No Role-Play.

I would ask that I should be given a period of grace in order to attempt to turn what is surely the most appalling mess of a Civ that I have ever seen in CtP into something akin to a nation.

Solver appears to have believed that the pathway to success lay wholly in producing titanic numbers of Slavers, as well as an excess of Clerics, whilst stuffing his people so full of food, difficult as I found but a couple of Farms, that they are unable to breed through obesity!!!!

When added to this City Placement so ill-thought out as to be mind boggling, a complete absence of Trade, only two Granaries in the entire Civ and not a single Scout Unit still less a Diplomat.

What lunacy prevailed to have adopted this strategy I know not as I have taken the reins of power from a long attached Civ before this and the AI manages better!
