Born in 17.7. 1963 at Jyväskylä, Finland, Matti has won more championships than no ski jumper ever. Since his sports career Matti has done right about anything one can imagine. He has been a singer, a stripper, an artist, and an alcoholic, to name a few.

Matti has never tried to avoid publicity, and that's probably why he is almost classified as a national hero in Finland. Matti's marital status alternates from week to week, and he's also frequently seen on covers of Finnish tabloid magazines.
