Loved Ultima 3 - I really enjoyed the "feature" where, once you had the Rot spell, you could go to some town on an island to the SE of the continent, steal every chest in this huge room of chests, and make it out alive even though the guards chased you down like the dog you were. It was pretty tiresome after a couple of hours, but you loaded up on the gold and weapons which made for a much quicker game.
But my favorite game experience comes in the arcade... 1983, playing Robotron: 2084 for 6 straight hours on one quarter to win an Atlanta-wide arcade contest. I gave the machine such a sound thrashing that I literally lost my game when I rolled-over* my extra men, giving me 0 lives.
*On the old arcade games, you could cause some big problems if certain variables went over 255 (rolling over). This was a problem because... hell, I don't remember now, but it had to do with the (8-bit, I think) processors lack of ability in handling numbers higher than 255. In Pac Man, if you got to the 256th level, the game would crash. In Robotron, if you got to the 256th level, it would start over at wave 1.
And yes, I accomplished both.
