Just be confident, look as professional as possible, be patient, answer questions, explain the benefits of the internet and how it can reach more customers. Tell them that you'd be happy to create a template for them to look at, so they can get an idea of what you'd be making them. Especially when dealing with older people. If you charm them, and they have the cash to spare, they'll generally go for it.

Then, knock their socks off with a neatly presented website...they'll recommend you to others.

I'm 35. And I can't say it doesn't get better. It does. Even this past few months out of work hasn't been so bad. I'm in Florida! I've acheived one of my life's goals, which was getting back here. I'm nowhere near as miserable as I was last year. Things between Bunnygrrl and me are great.

Sure it's tough, but that just makes it more exciting during the good times! You know you earned it!

And Bunnygrrl just got HIRED BY WILLIAMS-SONOMA!!!!!!!! It's only 1-3 days a week, and only $6.50 an hour, but it's income!

Living in NYC helps in that regard IMO.

I got laid off in october of 2001 and it only took me a month to find another job.

Honestly, it's an old Bolshevik tradition to have political names. Mine is tongue-in-cheek, being both an insult to me and a homage to Che at the same time, as well as turning an insult that some Jewish comrades had slung at me on its head.
