Most Civ 2 players use their ICQ contactlist if they want to play a Civ 2 game, they already have contacts enough. So the statement that it's 4 years late is pretty correct... But it can help up a lot if you mess your Civ 2 contacts on ICQ and ask them to sign up here.

I don't think the actual playing levels are that different. The gamespy forum is never very populated (though I think you can circumvent gamespy now), which is quite bad for a recently released game whose prominent attraction is MP capability.

Many of the people on the list do still play, but you wouldn't notice it based on the forums. They set up their games directly via an instant messager system, and not the forums.

There were a lot of old and obsolete numbers/names on the old one.

If we start a new one, people could list prefered settings and most likely play times.

in this forum, it get worser and worser for each month, but this thread is one of the best.

There are really spam threads in the Multiplayer section of Apolyton! For the example is 80% of all post in a so important thread as RAH rules spam! My time is worth to much to read such threads so sorry guys if I miss a really post in a such thread. But it worser for the Apolyton -> people don't read the forum longer because of all the spam (except the spammers of course).

Hey Wiz... the rah rules thread is only important to those that play in the rah rules games... which you don't. So cram it. What you call spam is what we would call a sense of community... a group of players, just like any other group of players here... that use these forums to stay in touch and set up games. If you don't want to read the forums, fine by me... but it seems like many still do... because of the relaxed setting... and a chance to join one of the groups. There are now almost as many Civ II MPer's registered as Civ III MP players... so your argument that nobody really reads these forums is lame at best.

So enjoy your whining... but that's all it is... whining.

Frankly, it doesn't matter if you don't want to read the forums... because the people that care still do

so there are you wrong because most games are played with RAH rules. At least the one I am in. And I want to keep in touch with news regarding RAH rules without reading 80% "community sense", that was the whole thing!
