Sorry, Paiktis, but you are the perfect example of why there can't be a Greek Prseident of the EU. The Greeks are too nationalistic, and too right wing. It is a typical balkans country that still is filled with hate. Indeed. I say it would be someone from Belgium. It is positioned between the biggest EU members France, Germany and England and as a consequence someone from Belgium is usually accepted as a good compromis between the big power's interests. Just like Brussels will become the capital of the European Federation, a Belgian will be the first president. Let's say Jean-Luc Dehaene for instance.

I think Al Gore would be a perfect selection

Since he wasn't smart enough to figure out how to win the US election after getting a majority of votes, it would be fitting that he leads a second rate union.

And the opportunities for humor whenever he had to stand toe to toe with Bush would be endless. Euros are used to having their leaders wussie out when dealing with the US, so Gore would be perfect.

And them maybe after you had your fill of him, we could stop hearing how much better off the US would be if he had won.

And think of all the priceless Bush/Gore shaking hands photo opportunities.
