Can someone tell me why

When I cut and paste a new unit pic into units.gif ie replacing
t-26 with su-76 gfx that when I save the changes and reload the game it crashes?

Got spare money?

I always use *.bmp files for all graphic files like terrain, cities or units. I think that´s easier to handle and you do not have problems with the correct format. Of course the files are bigger, but compressed with winzip there´s rather no difference in size.

If you are using Windows Paint you can forget about it; it seems to save in the wrong format for civ. Get hold of a copy of Paint Shop Pro or similar and you can save as bmp or gif in the right format.

I'm using a program called Macromedia Fireworks, so you also suggest I save it in *.bmp format, i'll give it a go.

I decided that I wanted to do a BF 109 last night, so here it is. I borrowed some insignia from Curt to finish it off. I filled in the background with the purple transparent color so the camo would come out better.

The update is being readied as we type, I can forsee it being ready in a few weeks. (at most)

DV2's tech tree is based on the Sov-steel system and the graphics, events and rules are being updated too.
I have mixed the open-season and standard together to create a scenario
where you can decide when certain weapon designs came out, up to a degree...

It will be much better fun than the last version of Dictator2.

Please do, I am repeatedly astounded a how good the unit art is from all the artists in SL!
