This is my effort: a WW1 soldier. For WW2 he should wear basically the same uniform but khaki coloured.

Jim: I hope you realise youv'e screwed up St Leo's excellent graphics thread classification by posting my late 19th century units - then again, so have I by posting this WW1 bloke in the WW2 section

The novelty factor is appealing. Actually, I think this would work much better with units that are twice as small.

Here is a small look at the fair Captain's progression of unit design. At top we see an old Tiger I, from 2194v1. As you can see, the entire chassis is less well-defined, and the turret is much larger than the later 'current' one. However when juxtaposing the two, I think the actual turret size to be somewhere in between. Unfortunately, the huge forward facing turret is of no use to us really. might be nice to try and enlarge the curret Tiger's turret a tad though.

Below is the IS-2. Horrible in its first incarnation in 2194v1, and interestingly nice in RF1.1. Then we have our fammiliar 'current' build. I dont like the turret on the current build particularly, it is too bubble-like. If you take a good close look at the 2nd IS-2, I think you'll find that that turret is really nice indeed. Not particularly a turret of an IS-2, more of the T-34/76 variety. Note the angled, rounded section at the front side of the turret. I'll try to post some pics of the tank IRL to exemplify the area I'm talking about.

*beware St Leo, Socialist Machismo Decal ahead*

I think I'll see what that turret looks like on a T-34 chassis. It might be better sized for the 'current' IS-2's chassis, which is slightly better than the 2nd. However, it too isnt a proper IS-2 turret either. Hrmpf.

Well here's what you have. The turret in question is indeed too big for the T-34. Will have to go about shaving ti down a bit but try to keep the same lines. It looks pretty good on the newer IS-2 body, and the more I look at the IS-2 the more I see the same roundness at the front as the 34/76. So if anything I guess this IS-2 here will/could be useful.

Hey, FMK, what if you resized the turret to be a little smaller and maybe slightly different in the back, put it on a T-34/76 and KV-1 and voila! you have a somewhat properly sized T-34/85 and KV-85!?

*note* I woudl do this except I have multiple papers, etc due soon

Got spare money?

maybe for the T34/85, but the KV series' turret looked totally different.

It really needs its own design IMHO. Nemo's is good, just need to alter it for the /85 I think.

argh, me gets confused with so many variants. Yes, you're right. The T-34/85 and Kv-85 both fired the D-5T gun from the same turret, which actually was the turret from the old IS-1.

I have never seen the second IS-2 before. I have seen the first and the third but can not recall ever seeing the second. It is looking good though, I always like to see someone improving upon the currently accepted graphics. Lord knows you could probably spend a month on mine alone improving them.

On a similar theme, how about the difference between the 75mm sherman turret and the much larger 76mm turret? anyone produce versions of these or are there just the 2 Nemo graphics with a longer gun for the 76mm?

do you have more whitewashed units like the PzKw IV ?
I would need a PzKw II or III, a StuG III and a Panther....
