my mom buys my brother and dad underwear and socks EVERY christmas and birthday...actually ANY male she has to buy gifts for..it consists of undergarments(underwear, t shirts or socks)..

When the humidity is 90% here in texas, briefs tend to bunch up and get highly uncomfortable. Boxers, I hate they way the legs roll up when you put pants on. Boxers briefs, however, give me the best of both worlds.

They were also useful in Utah, for reasons stated by Asher.

I have heard that it may be dangerous to wear boxers because one has increased chances to get one of his balls accidentally twisted. (and that hurts alot) I've heard that once one gets that, one must go to the doctor immediately, otherwise he will lose half of his "family" forever. (ouch!)

OTOH, people wearing briefs tend to get very uncomfortable when they have an erection and this tends to make little "Johny" a little bit skewed.

Since I'm a briefs man myself, I have to say that it's nice to know that i have made the safer choice.

I have a couple of boxers somewhere though. I wear them mostly in summer, on top of my briefs, instead of pyjamas. I prefer regular shorts for that purpose though, since they are more comfortable.

Unless you plan on having kids someday. Briefs tend to lower your sperm count.

I much prefer to be free. Briefs are constricting, boxers uncomfortable. I go commando, summer, winter, spring, and fall.

But don't tell my mother. Somehow I don't think she'd approve.

Some men who are young do have low sperm count.

And not wearing briefs can help.

but even though I have never been tested, I'm reasonably sure I have probably 50 or 60 trillion sperm per cc.

Actually the whole briefs-reduce-spermcount thing hasn't ever been proven, it's just an urban legend thing that people think makes sense but all of the tests they've done don't back it up

It also depends on the kind of clothes one wears. Wearing jeans all the time may have the effect that you are blaming briefs for. Other trousers are probably much cooler.

Plus there are some types of briefs that are really spacey. It depends on how well you fit the standard industry sizes.

Any links about the twisting hazard? is it an urban legend too?

You must have really loose nuts and be spinning around in circles or something to twist them. . I can't see it.

And yes I wear my old briefs quite a bit. I alternate with boxers. My briefs are a bit higher waist than I'd normally have so I have more room. Hell all my clothes are too big for me now I've lost weight.

I was wearing briefs since I could remember myself, but switched to boxers a year or so ago. I tried to wear briefs once(ran out of boxers ) and it was really uncomfortable.

When at home, only commando.

Actually it can happen and as axi said, it's very painful. The first thing one should do in this case is order a taxi to the hospital and hope to stay conscious by the time it arrives.
