Fighting a fierce battle for the Rodina!

The Times
Hundreds of luftwaffen bombers were shot down by
Brave RAF pilots. The Prison camps in Scotland is soon full by German Pilots.
The Brave RAFs did too destroy a German Battleship near London. Churchill still urges America to help Britain in the Fight against the evil tyranny. The Royal Navy stationed in Canada is moving towards Europe.
BBC Radio
Winston Churchill held a speech today...
"You ask 'what is our aim?' I can answer in one word - 'victory'!
Victory at all costs! Victory in spite of all terror!
Victory however long and hard the road may be! For without victory,
there is no survival.
You ask 'what is our policy?' I will say 'it is to wage war by sea, land and air,
with all our might, and with all the strength that God can give us - to wage war
against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark and
lamentable catalogue of human crime.' That is our policy."
- Winston Churchill, May 13th 1940

Constantinople, Queen of Cities
Aug 2002 time: 05:24

At 08:00 hours today Imperial troops entered the city of Singapoure. Following a plea for help by our German allies, the Empire of Japan has declared war on the British Empire. Grand Admiral Pericles in a bold move bypassed the British naval squadrons guarding the access to the port-city of Singapoure and initiated a surprise assault on the city. After a few hours of bombardment and a final assault by the navy's pride, the Imperial marines, the city surrendered to the forces of General Yamashita, commanding the 25th army. This stunning victory has earned him the nickname of "Tiger of Malaya". More than 85.000 English troops were captured in what is the British Empire's greatest military defeat in history.
Afterwards our troops enjoyed themselves on the western women, after standing in awe at the great amount of loot captured.
Many British vessels scuttled themselves in an effort to avoid capture by marauding Japanese squadrons.
Meanwhile the Kwantug army has been massively reinforced after the loss of 20.000 men in a Chineese counterattack last month. The Emperor has ordered a draft, and more than 1.000.000 men presented themselves for duty. The important cities of Chunking and Langchow were captured, albeit with many looses on the part of the Imperial airforce.
The fighting values of the elite Marine corps were aptly demonstrated when elements of the 25th army seized the city of Kumming in a daring move that surprised even Grand Admiral Pericles. These troops were kept in reserve for the assault on Hong Kong but when it was understood that they were not needed, they took the initiative and catching the Chineese garisson by surpise captured the city.
In another shrewd political move the Imperial army deposed the King of Siam and liberated his capital of Bangkong from his oppression. Anti-partizan operations were conducted all over liberated China.
Members of the Imperial General Staff estimate that after the devastating looses of the Chineese army during the August campaign, the Chineese "incident" will be over in less than two months. The Army will then be able to turn its attention elsewere.....

erm... what version of the scenario are you using Palaiologos? There is the standard version and the "open season" version. I was under the impression we were suposed to use the standard version, in which case I dont think it's possible for Japan (or anyone) to declare war yet. We should make sure we all use the same version.

ah i see, that would be a way around it. But it means it will be dificult or impossible for anyone to declare war on you in retaliation. But the same technique could probably be used.

Well I dont mind exept that I can't contact the British, for example and do the same thing. I could post an edited rules file to allow unrestricted negotiations? Or you could re-post your turn. Depends what people want i s'pose.
