Talk about digression...

To be fair to Bods, he doesn't drive or anything, so as individuals go in this country he is pretty good for the environment (barring his flatulance ). But the problem I find with elections is that the major parties stand for exactly the same thing, there isn't a fag papers width between them...

So the you'd be as happy to see IDS as PM as TB?

I can think of nothing worse, 'cept maybe Portillo as PM.

Put an end to popups!

Does charisma, personality and style mean little to you?

If George Bush were eloquent, witty and disarming in his talk (i.e the non-scripted stuff) then the US would have a better world image despite the actions he takes.

Adolf Hitler got to power and got things done, not because of his political ideology but because of his personality. If he was a boring old sap no-one would have voted for him.

Politics is not always about policy. Its also about how you convince people that those policies are right and how you get them implemented. Both foreign and domestic.

Correct. Results and performance matter to me. It is an important job with very important ramifications...A big grin and a mouth full of bullsh*t isn't going to cut any ice with me. And Bush's policies speak for themselves, no matter who the man is...

I do not care about gloss, personally. More fool those who do...

My point is that its a tool to get things done.

Assuming the policies are the same, who is more likely to get things done - say in European Union polices. A PM who is a boring sod who can't persuade anyone his policies are right and is generally ignored, or a suave, well-spoken, convincing, friendly, disarming, popular, personality?

I know who I would rather bat for us. Even if their core messages are the same.

Simple. Stand for elections yourself!
Any election! MP, EMP, County/District Council !

In the next elections, I will stand as an MP for the Legalise Cannabis Party! I just need somewhere to stand (somewhere I may have a chance of getting more than 10 votes) any ideas?

Oh, and my area was rather flooded too, exept my house, which happens to be on a large hill. And I'd allways hated walking up it all those years!

I think there is 7 billion people on this planet. And agricuture devoloped over centuries. It wasnt 'invented' by anybody.

Tired of ads?

how many votes do you need to keep your deposit?

is it done on a percentage of the electorate or a set number of votes?

5% is the threshold.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

But, if I find a real stoner town, I may be able to get upto 10% of the vote. Remember, I will not be attempting to 'steal' voters form the other canderdates, but getting all those stoners to vote for the first time ever! (They estermete that 50% of 18 to 25 people smoke. This age group really dont vote.)

Go to a predominantly student town. During term-time, Aber has 6400 students to 12000 locals.

Again, one beer might make very little difference. And I agree each next beer will add a little. But you are the one in control of drinking those beers. In elections, you are only in control of your vote (ie, your first beer). All the others are out of your control.

And washing your hands gets rid of bacteria and muck, so I don't see the analogy there.

It's brilliant. Although it isn't for some people - usually those that for some reason love being around a polluted mess of traffic jams and scallies.
