Ned, I cannot replicate your results. Both in SMAC and SMACX I get the results I would expect; 6 workers/8 drones with just the facilities, 7 talents/6 workers/1 drone with full psych as well.

The only thing that produces your results is substituting a Paradise Garden for the Recreation Commons or Hologram Theatre.

John, I added the TF and HF simply to boost pysch when I adjusted the SE settings. I don't think they have any direct effect on drones.

What I will do is rerun the experiment without TFs and HFs to see if these facilities are causing and unintended effect.

Tau Ceti, Well, I must have goofed somehow, because my rerun also ends up as expected: Seven talents, five content and two drones, which can be quelled with a police scout for GA.

This exercise was instructive, though, in that it is quite clear that achieving GA with police is easier than without them when base size gets to 13 and 14, assuming no b-drones.
