Basically, three kids hack into the Fairytale dimension (that runs on narrative, suspiciously like the Discworld) and crash it's operating system. Then things go haywire.

Im reading a book called:

1.Herakles' golden apples:

It's the 1st in a trilogy that shows that ppl travelled the world in prehistoric times. Things suggest that Atlantis was North and South America. The book is full of archelogical findings and stuff from other sciences that clearly suggest these two things.

2.Who, What, Where:

Stuff about what happened in 2002. The book has come out since 1946 IIRC.

3.The bible.

4. Civ3 strategy guide:

is on the table... Guess it's a desperate attempt to improve my civ2 game. I don't play civ3 although I have it.

5. Jasher's book:

I have not finsihed it book yet. Need to download more pages from the net. It is a book that is mentioned in the bible (twice) and thus very exciting.

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

A little while ago, I read "For whom the bell tolls" by Hemmingway.

I just finished a book called "Blue Latitudes" by Tony Horwitz (nonfiction), in which the author and his drunk Australian friend follow in the footsteps of Captain Cook. It's a hillarious and informative read.

And in terms of fiction, I've read books from 3 detective-type series in the bast 2 weeks: Robert Parker's Spenser series, John D. McDonald's Travis McGee series, and a series by Randy Wayne White about someone solving mysteries in South Florida (a la Travis McGee), which I'd never read or heard of before. All very funand worth reading if you like that sort of book.

Currently reading "White Teeth" (Zadie Smith) in foreground and "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" in the boring background. As always, reading "Tao Te Ching" when have time to kill or just when I feel like it.

Just came off a run of awesome books, to the extent that I am doubting my critical abilities:
"The Corrections (Franzen)"
- hilarious and easy to read
"The Man Who Loved Numbers"
- Paul Erdos was a fascinating guy.
"All Quiet on the Western Front"
- Recommend this to anybody who is a parent or is older than 30 or so.
"October Sky" (Homer Hickham)
- A beautifully told story and inspirational reading for everday reasons. If you would like to read, but have trouble focussing, this one will save you.

Tired of ads?

quote:
As always, reading "Tao Te Ching" when have time to kill or just when I feel like it.

Interesting, I used to read it religiously (pun), and decided to dig it up again a couple of days ago. I love that sh*t!

41. Taoism
----------

When the strong learn Tao, they practice it diligently;
When the average learn Tao, they practice it sometimes;
When the weak learn Tao, they laugh out loud;
Those who do not laugh do not learn at all.

Therefore it is said:
Who understands Tao seems foolish;
Who progresses in Tao seems to fail;
Who follows Tao seems to wander.

So the greatest force appears vulnerable;
The brightest truth appears coloured;
The richest character appears incomplete;
The strongest heart appears meek;
The most beautiful nature appears fickle;

So the square, perfected, has no corner;
Art, perfected, has no meaning;
Sex, perfected, has no climax;
Form, perfected, has no shape.

So Tao can not be sensed or known:
It transmits sensation and transcends knowledge.
