JAPANESE VICTORY! Spanish-Japanese War Ends!
This month Japanese forces ended the seige of Manila as Japanese cannons battered the remaining Spanish defences to surrender. As Japanese forces occupied the city, the Spanish colony of hte Philippines officially surrendered and in the following peace treaty agreement, the Spanish ceded the Philippine Islands to Japan. The Spanish engineers have also withdrawn from the islands. Our thanks to the German army and navy for assisting in the seige of Manila. This great victory marks the first time in modern history that an Asian power has defeated a European power.
