Obviously they would have got game developers to do Xboy games just like they did to get Xbox games.

Who? The only 2-D developers left are part of a handful of Japanese development houses, who have shown no desire to support Microsoft's plans. Hell, the majority of the best games on the GBA are made by Nintendo themselves. Who was MS going to magically conjure up these handheld games from?

Well, first of all, MS would have went on a spending spree -- buying up developers who make handheld games.

Second of all, MS is even publishing some GBA games themselves in 2003.

Third of all, you've once again overstated the importance of Japanese developers (no surprise there ).

A lot of the best selling GBA games are not Japanese:
Tony Hawk 2/3/4
Duke Nukem Advance
DOOM
Crash Bandicoot
Moto Racer Advance
Rayman Advance
Virtua Tennis
Colin McRae
Spider-Man
Mat Hoffman's BMX
Spyro
Rainbow Six
Madden 2003
Dave Mira
etc

MS is going to buy Nintendo, Capcom, or Konami?

That's a pretty pathetic list you have there, all 2D versions of console games and not a system pusher in the bunch. Plus Virtua Tennis is made by Sega, which is Japanese.

Microsoft almost bought Nintendo for $25B. Remember that.

How exactly do you define "system pusher" for the GBA?

The Tony Hawk series alone is one of the best selling handheld games ever.

Nice try...
Virtua Tennis is made by Altron.
It was published by Sega and THQ, depending on the region...

You've been having a lot of brainfarts lately...

But does anyone really think "I have to have that!"? It sells a lot of copies because its a good game, but it doesn't really make people rush out and buy a GBA like Metroid Fusion or Advance Wars does. You need original games to push systems, not ports of console titles.

You got me. I have no idea who Altron is...

I caught that one about a minute after I posted it.

And yeah, my brain hasn't recovered from last week. I'm still a bit dazed.
