The Iroquois had writing on the last turn, but we do not dirty our hands with mining iron and have no intention of ever building a sword. I think alex was approaching poly.

Yes, I was actually one turn away from Polytheism, so we were both 41 turns away from being in Monarchy (both Religious). I think by that time we would also have Literature and perhaps 1-2 other techs.

Don't forget that even if the Americans had as much population and land as the Iroquois and Egyptians combined, the alliance would be considerably better off than the solo empire because of corruption.

Has anyone done a palace jump anaylsis for PTW? I tried a close FP combined with palace jump in a couple island starts and I could never get the jump to work right.

DaveMcW, I've done 2 Palace jumps with PTW so far. One was in AU202. It appeared to work just like in normal Civ3.

But I'm not sure what you mean by "close FP combined with palace jump". Did you build your FP close by, then try to jump your Palace off the island? AFAIK, Palace-jumping is not an exact science; in my experience it is more affected by Culture than my population. By the time you completed the FP, you must have had numerous cities with varying Culture values. Perhaps this had something to do with the erratic behaviour of your jumps?

I agree with Dom. If you jump to a size 12 city and none of the "competing locations" are over size 6, maybe you are safe. But, it can easily go wrong. One game I had the palace jump to the location of the FP. Now, if you don't hit new game after that, you are a real civ player!!

I agree, I missed this thread one the first time around, but reading what you guys got was hilarious!

Can't wait till you actually finish a PBEM game...but I know how long it must take.
