And to be serious, yes, jokes about the Holocaust itself would nobody like in Germany (except neo nazis idiots), and I think this hasn´t anything to do with humor or not - the issue is just too sad to joke about it.

But OTOH I´ve seen jokes about Hitler on tv, some really funny.

As a New Yorker who witnessed Sept. 11th first hand, I can say I would infinitely prefer living with that memory rather than having, say, survived Dresden or being constantly associated with the national shame of the Holocaust.

I think the blanket statements of prejudice and bigotry seen in this thread say a lot more about their posters than they do about Germans.

I had to go to Germany once, and liked the place and people so much that I've been there on holiday a couple of times since.

Always enjoyed myself there (the beer helps of course)
