We could always name a city “Umm” or “Eh” if only to have a joke with “Umm, what shall we name this city?” or “What shall we name this city, eh?”

The unit system I use in my games is this:
Each unit gets a number and a city. THe city is where it was built, and the number is the number of that unit that have been built from the city. Slaves, when captured, are simply called "Slave". When a unit wins a battle, it is named "Nth ___-Slayer ___", where N is the number of that type of unit that have won battles against that civ, the first blank is the civ the unit defeated, and the last blank is the unit type. If a unit gives a GL, it gets renamed to "___'s ___", the first blank being the GL name and the second being the unit type. If a GL makes an army, the army is called "___'s Army". Any units put in the army are named "___'s ___", where the blanks are the same as those with the unit that made the GL.

We have lots of members here. I think it would be cool to name units after some (or if we have lots of units all) of the members.

or we could just not name any of them... |
This could be quite funny; we could name our first warrior and put a number along with it, like 27, and then the rest of the civs may see it and wonder "....they have 27 warriors?! WTF?!"
Or we could number them in way which is only obvious to us; make the first and last digit a random number with only the middle one rerepresenting the actuall number, or the first two random, or the last two, it doesn't matter as long as we know.
