Sojourns of Maud'Dib: From Dictator To King
The reign of Maud'Dib began like those of his predecessor's, one dictator dies another steps in to fill the void.
Upon taking the throne in 1000BC, Maud'Dib addressed his people form the capitol:
"My fellow Apolytonians lend me your ears. For too long our civilization has wallowed in Despotism and as a result you, the people, have seen your potential wasted. Wheat is allowed to die on the grasslands, mines produce only 2/3rds of what they should and trade is wasted due to corruption.
I give to you my solemn vow that I will not sit on the throne until I have earned that right. I am too young and immature to lead a great people like yourselves. I must go forth and see the world that lays beyond our borders. Only then through the knowledge gained from my sojourns can I truly call myself your leader."
After stunning the crowd with his speech, he mounted his horse and rode off to the east. Many believed that they would never see this man alive again. While others speculated at what he would find.
In 975BC, a messenger arrived in the city of Orleans. He brought a gift from Maud'Dib--the knowledge of Masonry.
On Hundred years would past until they would hear from their would be king. While exploring the Great Forest north of Off-Topicus, Maud'Dib had a vision. He saw a great wooden contraption with a long arm that could hurl large stones great distances. He also saw numbers, and when he combined them, they made new numbers. He knew what the numbers meant--he called it mathmatics.
After he sent word of his latest discovery, an old man entered Maud'Dib's encampment. The old man said the gods would bring forth a stranger who had great wisdom. The gods said I must teach that man on how to be a King. The old man said that Maud'Dib was that stranger. The old man lead Maud'Dib to his hut and taught him the ways of Kings. The old man said for Maud'Dib to return to his people and lead them. When he exited the hut he turned around to give thanks to this old man, but the hut had vanished and with it the old man. Maud'Dib knew what this meant, the gods were with him.
Maud'Dib returned to his people. When he entered the capitol, he was hailed.
Maud'Dib began the task of improving the government. But in his absence, other less worldly individuals had stepped in to fill the void. Maud'Dib would not let his people suffer the injustice of Despotism--He lead the people in revolt. The revolution would last for 50 years, and in that time every city was cleansed of the evils of Despotism. When the time was right, the people chose to institute a new form of governance--Monarchy. So, in 825BC, Maud'Dib was named the first king.
Eventually, Maud'Dib grew tired of the daily rituals of Court life and longed for the days to return to his travels. So he mounted his horse once again and set off for parts unknown.
Before last day of the year of 825BC ended, a strange hurd of animals entered the city of Off-Topicus bearing a message from Maud'Dib:
"I found these wonderous beasts roaming the deserts. I call them camels. Use them and the others that you breed to carry our goods from city to city and to other nations."
In 750BC, Maud'Dib, while aiding a small village, was presented with a strange device that could look into the heavens and make the stars appear closer than they really were.
In 700BC, while the army was scouting French territory, the French offered 150 in gold if we would draw the borders between the two nations. Apolytonians accepted.
Also, Maud'dib sent couriers back with the knowledge of Construction gained from a ruined, long-lost, ancient city.
In 650BC, France declared war as we broke the peace treaty because we refused to withdraw one of our military units that was stationed on the border, but located in Apolyton territory.
In 600BC, Apolyton sages discovered the secret of Pottery, but this discovery was over shadowed buy the news that Maud'Dib had discovered the Code of the Warrior and Polytheism (a strange new animal called an Elephant was brought into the kingdom).
After hearing that his people were at war, Maud'Dib halted his sojourn and returned.
In 525BC, Maud'Dib gathered a large army around Smash's Folly and marched onto the French city of Rheims. Using the contraption that Maud'Dib had once envisioned (now called a catapult) to reduce the French defences, Apolyton forces captured Rheims and plundered 17 in gold.
After the battle, Maud'Dib, seeing that his forces were now capable to fight battles without him, resumed his sojourn.
The whereabouts of Maud'Dib are unknown at this time. However, his last message that he sent was that of the knowledge of Engineering.

Edit: I also do not have the time to create a webpage but I might if I get a Webpage maker for my birthday (11/3). And for the title of this game...this is a team and we just keep playing over and over again.
