70AD to FP
Ugh, just read C's post. And that after I reactivated my ally FP, who was pretty long inactive . Conqueror, you're a great opponent and a very good defender. Man, you made me sweat, and swear, I tell you. I can't even count how many of my expensive units you killed. But the army that just broke in on the mountain range, and which can be convenient reinforced from sea, probably can't be stopped.
I can't speak for FP and alva (whom I found this turn), but personally I don't insist to slug it out. We could wait a couple of weeks and start a new game, with Conquests

FP wrote me a mail and said, that he doesn't object to stop this game too. So we probably can officially declare it finished. Let me say thank you, and kudos to everyone.
Conqueror for building a big empire, practically all wonders short of a few, conquering 2 AIs and being a very tough and inventive defender of his lands.
FP for finishing the Greeks and being me an always reliable ally, who helped with infrastructure and build me the city of Ottomania, the base of most of my operations. He was in the end up to sweep the western front, while my army (>70 units and growing) seized the eastern mountain range.
Kudos to alva too, for being Tarzan the jungle hero, and never giving up, even though he was practically alone for most of the game.
One last word about things this game taught me:
- Games with accelerated production enabled have their own rules. For my gusto, they go way too quick. I don't like this much, although YMMV.
- AIs never do any good in MP games. They whore around maps and techs, are weak and generally favor the player, who's their neighbor. Conqueror pruned and finally finished 2 AIs and grew to the greatest power in the game practically uncontested. FP finished the Greeks and ended up with a decent area, although most of his terrain was pretty poor. I had beautiful land (most of it), but was boxed in by 2 human players and had to knock out one of them to grow to a significant power at all. This can hardly be called even conditions. I don't want to blame anything to the other players, but I for my part will in the future avoid MP games with AIs in them.
- Finally, the island block (blocking shores with units, so the attacker can't land). Conqueror used it in a pretty annoying way, but FP and I used it as well, so again no blame on anyone. It's somehow killing the game, for me. Amass enough work force along the coast of the Normandie, and the allies can't have their D-day. Weird. I don't know how to find a solution. May be have one unit per era capable of naval landings. This would screw the Vikings, but save the game. I need to think about this.
Once more, thanks everyone for a good game.

This game actually made me invent few new tricks, so i consider this very educational one, next time i'll be harder to beat

FP didnt bother me too much, didnt see many FP units after the first stacks, except some lone galleys.

True, even tho he wasnt quite that lonely, i found his island many hundred years ago and was successfully selling him techs

I for one, like the AP games, its easier to build wonders altough i overbuild them in expense of my military. need to balance more in future games.

true, AI's are most annoying. Even tho i was able to conquer the germans, their endless warmongering in the early game (3000-1000 BC) slowed my early expansion significantly. I'd done much better in early game without the germans around.

Good solution to this might be what alva suggested, or then modify unit abilities so that they would be able to land on top of zero defense units, so nobody could block shores with workers/artillery (like i did )
Good Game Thanks for you all for this fun experience. I definately am interested in a new one with Conquests.
