Wow, me = post # 542 in this thread. Unthinkable in the OT.

I gave up on this "game" 'cause no matter how close I got to having a balanced budget, even just, the numbers would always swing back into the mega-red. After the seventh time, I'd had enough. Sorry, but I won't be back.

I kept managing to get to within paying off one final loan each time - only once did I pay them ALL off - and then suddenly I'd start having negative income and subsequently have to take out new loans. I really skimped on my budget, cutting the fat AND many services to get more immediate income to kiil the loans off sooner. I'd let the AutoBudget feature show me where to start, then I'd either cut a few hundred or a few billion of its numbers. Each time the swing-back seemed to put me in a little deeper. Worse, I couldn't build new industries. I had the resources, I had the workforce, but except for the first few weeks I'd played this game I could never get even one of the factory-things to build my industries. BLOODY HELL, considering I managed to build one in early on and was telling it to reserve some for in-country use.

Doesn't matter anyway. I hadn't accessed my account in a few months. Tried the other day and was told SeaSide View didn't exist. I feel no loss...

Sorry Skanky, but the SimCountry economics code is too unpleasant and evil for my tastes. Clearly you are having a better time of it, so good luck to you and others.

Managing five countries has proven to be a pain, so basically I'm just using the smaller countries to pump up Mentop and my new country "Dell" to get it up to 10m people so it can take over more countries. I don't really care what happens to the smaller ones, just as long as they aren't losing money.

There are only two countries bordering me. One is a player country that is inactive, and the other is a computer controlled country with a defense index of 160! I'm going to concentrate on defense and the economy for now.

The computer-controlled country should pretty quickly get itself into debt - by the time you are ready to strike again, it should be dismantling its army.

I'm losing interest in the game as well...I don't feel like conquering anymore nations because it is just more micromanagement. Even fighting the war is a pain in the neck...I'll try and login every few days to upgrade my corporations, but I wouldn't expect me to be doing much more.
